Malphite Possible Rework Idea
I thought Malphite could do with a bit of a rework, both with his kit being extremely outdated and rather boring and his theme of being a "Shard of the Mountain" not really being shone through. I created an idea for a possible rework to his kit that would explore the ideas of his being able to manipulate the ground/ him being a sentient massive boulder essentially. This would be Iteration 1 of his Kit since its just a slap together of the ideas that popped into my head.
Malphite Rework
P: **Stone Cold Boulder ** Malphites Abilities drop Boulders which his abilities may interact with. (Also toyed around with the idea of baking the boulders into small bits of impassable terrain but I think that would make his kit wayyyy too imba) Malphite passively gains a shield based on x% of his Max Hp, that refreshes after 12/11/10/9/8 seconds of not taking damage from Champs and Epic Monsters.
Q: A Massive (Boulder) Hit… that improves you a bit Malphite Hurls a boulder towards a target location dealing x + (y% AP + z% Armor) Magic damage, stopping at the first champion hit, briefly slowing in a small area around the impact for 30/35/40/45/50%. Malphite's Q Drops a Boulder either at the end of its destination, or at where it hits a champ.
W: A Mountain Needs a F*ck You Armor Up Ability Passive: Malphite’s autos deal an additional x% Armor magic damage and cleave in a small aoe. Malphite can auto Boulders to regain a portion of his passive shield back. Active: Malphite reinforces himself, gaining x% extra armor. His next 3 auto attacks cleave in a much bigger radius, dealing an additional x + (y% Max Hp) magic damage and his third attack stuns them for 0.5 seconds.
E: A Rolling Stone Gathers No F*cks First Cast : Malphite stands still, charging for up to x seconds, gathering stones and rolling himself into a massive boulder. Second Cast : Malphite rolls towards a destination, becoming unstoppable, dealing x + (y% AP + z% Armor) physical damage and knocks up enemy champions in a radius around the first enemy champion hit and spawning a Boulder for each champion hit. Malphite cannot roll through terrain. (Possible to control where he rolls to kinda, maybe like sion's Ult level of control/ slightly worse. Just so he doesn't get gimped in the jungle.) If Malphite rolls through a Boulder, he charges further, faster, becomes wider, and deals an extra x + (y% AP + z% Armor) damage. Multiple Boulders do not stack.
R: Ground Pounded by the Rock Daddy Malphite Slams the ground, creating ground tremors in a massive area around him, dealing x + (y% AP) over x shockwaves and slowing and everyone in the area by 20/25/30% for x seconds. Any Boulders caught in the slam become unstable, exploding in a small area for another x + (y% AP) damage, reducing their Attack Speed by 25/30/35% Explosions from Multiple boulders deal x% reduced damage.
So the idea for the kit revolves around the usage of these Boulders that would interact with his other abilities to make his entire kit a bit more interactive instead of just being a massive point and click boring utility tank. For the most part, I've kept his abilities relatively similar, ie. The q slowing, having an atkspd slow, and an aoe knockup. However, with the rework idea, he should have more options of approaching a fight/ engaging and tussling, rather than just being an Ult bot, with a little bit of spicy E and Q in teamfights.
