What is the champion RELEASE cycle?

I have about 10000 ip on my acc and none of the champs left to buy arent really suited for my playstyle. So I was wondering how often does Riot release champions in the store. Bard was released what, 1-2 months ago and I dont know when will the next champion come out... Any thoughs or insights will be helpfull (even better if from Riot itself ;D)

The cycle is random, but the next one specifically is probably at next patch or during next patch.
