feedback on kindred's shadowfire skin (some in-depth sheeet on the skin)
i think kindred's shadowfire skin should have black and white fire instead of the actual fire color, as white flames and black flames where i think it would truly bring out the concept of shadowfire for kindred. i was thinking having black fire on lamb where the hair is with the red fire and white fire on wolf where there is the red fire. with those recolors i feel like it would make the skin more dynamic and in-depth about the skin where it's not as literal where it's just shadow and fire but actually putting the two together into shadowfire.
-^that was my point and down here is just more of an explanation for those who wanna go more in-depth, otherwise TL:DR-
if you look at the shadowfire skin for kindred now, i see it as just shadow and fire that makes up the concept of the skin. i find that too literal and not as unique, but don't get me wrong the artwork is great and all but the coloring could improve. i know that league has come a long long long way from what they used to be and i would know since i was there since beta, and i think they're on a right track on having more unique champions and even fixing and changing their lore (in which i kinda dislike because i liked the old lore and they were funny because they all had their own story and not really connected towards another, a more personal standpoint but that's besides the point anyway). the skins however, the concept of development has almost always stayed the same; as in being too literal (in terms of naming and the actual skin). i'm not saying it's a problem, and sometimes it's just being literal is really all it needed.
i know these are just small details of the game, but im one of those type of people who pays attention to the small details and it's these small details that peeks my interest into this game. a good example of a good skin (as in the skin matching with it's title and what not, perfection whore yeah i know) would be pulsefire ezreal imo. my reasoning being is that when pulsefire came out, it was a brand new thing and no one really knew what pulsefire is and i feel like the artwork of the skin really put the "pulsefire" into pulsefire ezreal. just everything about that looked right and sounded right. it felt dynamic and that whole skin felt like it had depth because of all the new quotes and armored up ez. it actually makes people think (or me at least) theories about their lore and makes them wonder what happened from the transition from regular ez to pulsefire ez. it feels like he matured. you know that type of feeling.
now how does that connect with kindred's shadowfire skin? it's feeling of playing something more than just "kindred," it's the feeling of playing "shadowfire kindred." when i play shadowfire kindred, it feels bland for me. as i said it felt too literal. when kindred came out i was really excited about it because of kindred's character design, like ying and yang. the whole idea of lamb wearing wolfs mask and wolf wearing lambs was just immaculate i loved it. but after seeing the shadowfire skin just didn't feel quite right, everything was just too literal for kindred's concept. that's why i'm proposing changing the color of the fire to white and black for the two instead of just the plain color of fire. when it's a black and white fire, it will have the feeling of the aspects of a shadow with the body of fire. and that would make a great shadowfire skin.
welp, those are my 2 cents and of course these are all just my opinions as an artist, well... ex-artist. either way i still very critical about art and design. like they say "it's the little things that are vital. little things make big things happen." well in my case more complete.
