Why are all of xerath’s skins terrible
I enjoy playing Xerath quite a bit and am always disappointed when I think about his skin options. I’ve always though battle boss Xerath would be cool, does anyone else have any good ideas?

Xerath's design is terrible, and you can't put lipstick on a pig and expect it to look good.
What are you talking about? Xerath has many unique and creative skins, including Green Xerath, Red Xerath, Orange Xerath, and Yellow Xerath.
scorched earth is rad but in general yeah i can see where you're coming from. he hasn't had a skin in a while (abt 4 years) and all of his current ones are basically chromas (before he got reworked in 2014 they weren't even colour changes lol). he isn't ultra popular but i think he's scheduled for a skin sometime soon
For me the best concepts are
- Dark Star
- Void
- Battle Boss
- Pulse Fire
- Cosmic Wierd concepts that might be interesting:
- Elementalist Xerath (changes between elements but there is alredy Lux's one)
- Human form (Xerath before the ascension)
- Worldbreaker
- Hextech Xerath
The problem is Xerath's base design. There's only so many ways you can dress up a pile of rocks held together by lightning. Personally, I'd love for him to have a visual update so that his Shuriman Ascended provenance is more apparent.
i don't know, maybe they can't find inspiration from him. which i find hard to believe. maybe they were feeling lazy when they made his skins
Omega Squad Xerath would be nice. Or any skin line that has him shooting Missiles. An Arcade Xerath would have neat pixel animations. A Galaxy Xerath would look trippy.
He could really use a Dark Star skin with those nice black-purple-navyblue colored spell effects
I remember finding him fun a while back and I thought of getting a skin but then I saw how they're all so... bad. I mean jeez.
His two older skins are bad. But how are Guardian of the Sands, and Scorched Earth Xerath bad? I think they are both pretty darn good.
GotS Xerath is awesome but I'm biased toward it xD
All Xerath skins are old (except Scorched Earth and Guardian of the Sands), like really really old. They originally didn't even have different colors because Riot lacked the tech required to change VFX colours.
He needs a legendary tier skin badly, Dark Star, Void, Cosmic etc. are all awesome concepts but since he is not a popular champion nor the Art team seems to care about him relaly much I don't see he getting one.

The funny thing is he has one of the few skins which changes their color (Battlecast) in a 520 skin when old Battlecast Urgot costed 1350 and only changed the Q and base skin.
