[Champion concept] Gravity (thought up around bending skillshots)

I haven't thought up a name, image or lore for this champion concept just a kit. Just thought there wasn't a champion that could affect the trajectory of a skillshot yet and wondered if it might be a nice adition to the game, so i thought up a kit around that idea today and gave it some rough numbers (that i thought would keep it in balance)let me hear your thoughts.

Though cause it manipulates and works with stones and stars it could have some relation with taliyah malphite and aurelion sol (I haven't read enough lore to make those calls though i've read way to little to know how it al fits together.)

Role it would fit:

Mage

Role it might fit:

Tank Support

It's a ranged champion.

#Abilities# Passive: Gravity field

The gravity around the champion is a lot higher than normal it's high enough that every step he takes breaks up the terain he walks on having a chance to create "rubble" and leaving behind a difficult to traverse terrain that slows enemies for 2,5%/5%/10%.

Spawning rubble: 20 % chance to spawn at every step that breakes up terrain (with a failsafe that rubble will spawn at the 5th step if there was no rubble spawned the previous 4 steps) What rubble will spawn: lvl 1 to 5 100% S lvl 6 to 11 an 30/35/40/45/50/60% chance for M else S at lvl 12 to 18 you will have a chance to spawn L sized rubble 5/10/15/20/25/30/40%. No L then M no M then it will be S sized. Rubble: Are pieces of rock that come in 3 different sizes S/M/L these can be destroyed by Auto Attacks S requires 1 hit to be reduced to dust M requires 2 when destroyed leaves behind 2 pieces of S rubble L requires 3 hits breaks up in 2 M rubble.

Q: Zero gravity slam (please help me with a better name) Cooldown: 10 seconds all levels (shouldn't be lower at least) Cost: 100/125/150/175/200 mana Range: 250

The champion removes gravity for a moment on the targetted champion (or rubble) and steps forward (to a range of 150(melee distance)) and slams it away.

  1. Champions slammed are knocked-up away a distance of 400 and taking 30/45/60/75/90 + 50% AD damage.(Can't find a way to put AP damage into a slam).
  1. Rubble wil turn turn into a skillshot range according to size 800/600/400 and do 10/20/40 + 40%/60%/80% of AP + 30/45/60/75/90 + AD damage.
  1. Rubble will take a point of damage at the end of its range or when it hits an enemy. S rubble will thus be reduced to dust at the moment of impact and will blind and nearsight the enemy hit for 0,5 seconds and will be blocked by minions (single target). M/L rubble will displace all enemies hit for 50/100 units (damages all hit).
  1. The slam will be counted as an enhanced AA (also procs spellblade and on hit effects).
  1. [Imbued] When champion slams rubble away he imbues it with his spellblades item effect (also it's bonus damage).

Example damage: Q lvl 1 S rubble 55 AD 15 AP = 30 +22,5 + 10 + 6 = 68,5 Q lvl 3 M rubble 55 AD 45 AP = 60 + 22,5 + 20 + 27 = 129,5 Full build: Q lvl 5 L rubble 55 AD 700 AP = 90 + 22,5 + 40 + 560 = 712,5 + (Lichbane 33,75 + 350=)383,75 =1096,25

W: Increase in gravity Cooldown: 12 seconds all levels Costs: 70/90/110/130/150 mana Radius: around 400.

  1. You expand your "gravity field" outwards and increase its power dealing 5/10/15/25/40 + 10% AP damage per second lasts for 3 seconds all levels.
  1. The increase in gravity flattens all terrain to its normal state in its AoE while this effect is active the terrain cannot be "broken up".
  1. slowing all enemies by 10%/15%/20%/25%/30%
  1. enemies on ground are due to the sudden increase in gravity rooted for 0,5 seconds the moment they come into contact with its AoE.
  1. Champions that are knocked up before coming into contact with the AoE allies as wel are slammed down back to the ground taking 10/30/50/70/90 + 20% AP damage and are instead of rooted stunned for 0,5 seconds. (don't know if the allied champion should receive damage as well lets just say he is in so much control that before his allies hit the ground full force he exempts them from further effects)

E: Pull of gravity Cooldown: 16/15/14/13/12 seconds Costs: 100/150/200/250/300 mana Radius: 200 Range: 1100

  1. You use your power of gravity to pull down a meteor from space dealing 80/120/160/200/240 +100% AP damage.
  2. The meteor is conidered M sized rubble and thus displaces targets hit by 50 units away from the center.

R: Superstar Cooldown: 200/180/160 seconds. Costs:300/400/500 mana Duration: 4 seconds Rubble orbit radius: around 400 Starburn radius: around 200 Pulling force: 175/200/225 movement speed

  1. The champion transforms itself into a star (after a brief delay) that slowly draws in rubble. As a star he can only move around as normal or reactivate the ability to end it in advance.
  2. enemies within its range of gravity (rubble orbit radius) will be slowly drawn to the center.(enemies can walk away but movement speed is reduced by pulling force of the star)
  3. The gravitational field bends linair skillshots towards himself. skillshots that travel through its orbit radius are bend.
  4. The star burns those that come close enough into contact with it dealing (150/200/250 + 50% of AP) damage every second.
  5. When the rubble comes close enough to the star the rubble will start to burn taking a point of damage every 2 seconds.
  6. while in star form you gain a secondary health bar equal to 40/50/60% of you max health.
  7. At the end of the skill or when the stars health bar drops to zero the star and rubble falls to the ground and the remaining 10/20/30% health of the star will heal you for that amount over 4 seconds.
  8. Enemies within starburn radius are rooted.

Interactions: (i can think of)

Rubble is not traverseable you can't walk through them (except kayne of course). Rubble that floats around the star is still terrain bards passage, tallons vault, hooks of camille, vayne's impale and so on. Breaked up terrain cannot spawn more rubble when you walk over it. Can be picked up by syndra. Taliyah's worked terrain can be broken up by walking over it however taliyah can therefore rework this broken up terrain. the star and caitlyns R, caitlyns R should thus also bend. A stars gravitational force isn't at a point that it can affect light strong enough (thus lasers won't bend)

Questions are welcome i will do my best to answer them and please do let me know what you think.

Gameplay Mid To make use of his abilities you will have to keep walking to ensure you a path to survival. At lvl 1 you can choose to pick either Q or E depending on your situation because your Q early on will be relliant on where your rubble wil spawn allowing the enemy to know from where you will try to hit him and he can thus choose to hide behind his minions or simply destroy the rubble. With the current values this will give him a weak early game (maybe to weak maybe i should up the base damage values).

At lvl 6 he will get some kill potential when he gets close enough to the champion at least so it would do you wel to have broken up quite some terrain before you move in to ensure your target will not get away drop a meteor in his escape path and transform into a star dragging your enemies and nearby rubble to the center to deal its damage when the ability ends and your enemy is still alive you can use your Q + E combo to deal the last bit of damage and in case he flashes away you can still make use of the rubble you dragged along.

When you hit lvl 12 and gain the chance to spawn L sized rubble the way the game will be played changes once more cause any location that has these big rocks will turn into a place of danger to your enemies.

Late game everything balances out i think. Core item Lichbane [Imbued] This in my eyes sounds like an interesting concept allowing you to change the way your abilities work to your liking. The kit is not entirely balanced i believe let me know your thoughts.

Changelog:

1-12-2017: Written down the outline of an concept and posted it on the board. 4-12-2017: Adjusted kit according to feedback received. Q Gravitational collapse was adjusted and became R Superstar. R Supernova was removed. New Q. Moved some from the passive to his W and gave it a new interraction (point 5). Adjusted E. 6-12-2017: Added point 3,4,5 and 6 to his Q. Gonna comment as I read, cuz this is a really interesting idea.

  1. The passive is nice, but I feel like it would cause the champion to be played more of a tank/offtank. Mainly due to the percent health damage you've added in.

  2. I like how the w would work with the passive, but its a little reminiscent of AurelionSol and his stars. The small root effect is nice though, giving champions a moment to readjust to the new gravity?

  3. I feel like, manipulating the current gravity of the location, this would also affect his/her allies, possibly rendering most of this useless. But perhaps we can attribute this to "its a fictional character" and let allies be immune to the slow. Perhaps its a targeted gravitational field around the enemy champions?

  4. The q and r synergies remind me too much of Orianna and her ball, instead of pulling them to the center, it pushes them outwards?

  5. I honestly believe you should just cut the current ultimate and put the Q as the new one. Bending skillshots seems busted as hell, and shouldn't be so readily available.

  6. I'd honestly like to see something where you specifically target one champion, making skillshots bend towards them while retaining their maximum length. This would be a nice synergy with global ults, so Ashe can ult down lane and you can guarantee that her ult will hit a target? But it should only work for single-target skillshots like Ashe and Jinx's ulti's, Ezreal Q, Ahri E, etc. This way you can't mess up an aoe skillshot hitting another target.

Just a little feedback on a pretty bada** champion design you've got going on. Keep up the good work, maybe it'll get noticed.

interesting ideas. just from the length of your ability descriptions he sounds very overloaded (i haven't got the time to look into details). i've been playing around with the idea of bending skill shots the feedback i've got from it people don't like the idea of manipulating the spells of your allies, i feel it subject of debate but some don't like it. whilst thematically cool the passive sound broken though. the ruble mechanic is a no go it just be to easy to disengage and the perma slow is will make him very frustrating to play against.

Make sure when you write in damage values that the increase is mostly linear. A champion with that much exponential scaling would snowball much too hard. Otherwise, I love the champion design :)

#Edited on 4-12-2017# Old stuff

** Q:Gravitational collapse/move** Cooldown: 20/19/18/16/15 seconds. Gravitational Collapse Costs:200/225/250/275/300 mana Rubble orbit radius: around 325 Starburn radius: around 200 Range: around 800

  1. The champion creates a star(if the champion has no star) at a target location that slowly draws in rubble. The rubble that floats arround deal damage according to its size and take a point of damage.
  1. At the moment of its creation enemies within its range of gravity (rubble orbit radius) will be drawn to the center.
  2. The gravitational field bends linair skillshots.
  3. The star burns those that come close enough into contact with it dealing (3/4/5/6/7% + 1% of AP) of targets max health a second as damage.
  4. When the rubble comes close enough to the star the rubble will start to burn taking a point of damage every 2 secconds burning rubble "scorches" (damage like the rune) enemies Move: Costs 100 mana at all levels. The star travels to target location

R: Supernova Cooldown: 140/120/100 seconds Costs: 250/275/300 mana Radius: 500 champions caught up in the effect are flung to a distance of 600 away from the center of the explosion rubble will fly according to size 900/750/600.

  1. your star explodes destroying it, knocking enemies away from the center of the explosion and dealing 500/600/750 + 100% AP damage and flinging all rubble in range of the explosion outwards for the same damage rubble of that size would normally do but with 100% AP scaling before the rubble is flung away it takes a point of damage first.
  1. The explosion will flatten the terrain in it's AoE turning it to normal but wil break up the terrain arround the outer edge of its radius.(with the normal chance of spawning rubble)
