Emma, the Racquet Queen

For the sake of simplicity, the sport that Emma plays in Runeterra will be referred to as Tennis, even though it may or may not exist in the lore... though granted Tacos Kled do, so whatever.

_Lore _

Unlike her contemporaries in the League of Legends, Emma is not a warrior who seeks power, or served in the armed forces of her home City-State of Piltover. She did, however, serve in a different kind of way. She was, and to many still is, considered a prodigy in the sport of Tennis. Coming from a family who lived in the shadows of the Piltover elite, her only escape when she was a child from her day to day struggles was the sport.

Those who watched the lower class girl train with her makeshift racket and crushed can ball laughed and scoffed, before leaving the girl to her own devices. Even her family, who struggled to be recognized by their elitist peers, seemed to discourage her at every point. Yet, Emma continued to train and sharpen her skills. and once she felt she was ready, the young woman went to an open invitational that was being held near the center of Piltover. This small, seemingly insignificant tournament had attracted many of the best Tennis players from not only the City of Progress, but around Runeterra as well.

However, Emma was in for a shock. As she walked towards the registration booths, those working behind the wooden structures simply ignored the woman. Any attempt to speak with them would be met with hostility, as they stared down at the young woman, who held her makeshift racket close to her tattered clothes. Eventually, in tears, the young lady ran off. However, her despair caught the attention of one very important Piltover inventor.

The man, Jayce Giopara, knew exactly what to do. He walked towards the young Emma, and simply said that, while she could not get in on her own, he could sponsor her. Her tears of sadness quickly turned into tears of joy as she embraced the man.

Those in the registration booth were shocked. Jayce, not caring for what they, or anyone else, had to say or thought about this simply repeated what he said: "I am her sponsor, let her compete."

With utter disdain, the officials reluctantly accepted Emma. This was the first and only time she would compete in an open invitational and fail to claim 1st place. The young Emma just barely lost to one of the best players, at the time, in the finals, leaving the tournament in 2nd and stunning the Piltovans who viewed the woman as a mere joke contestant.

From then on, Emma would continue to compete in tournaments: defeating many great players and catching the ire of the Piltovan Elite. Eventually however, as her fame skyrocketed, her interest in the sport diminished.

She turned to the person that helped her so long ago, Jayce, and asked for some special equipment.

With her new Hextech Racket and enhanced power, speed and endurance that she had built over the years, she is now ready to face new contenders and new challenges in the League of Legends.

Yes a bit cliche, and long, but eh

Abilities

Emma is an AD Caster, who uses her abilities to gain an Advantage against her opponents using her powerful, long range abilities. If she's in a Disadvantage, she can also melee opponents.

  • Passive: First Serve

Emma will have one Tennis Ball with her at the beginning of the match. When you right click an enemy or neutral monster, and Emma has the Tennis Ball in her possession, she will **Serve **it instead of performing her basic melee attack.

**Serve **grants Emma a range of 575; it, and **Shots **can proc on-hit effects and can critically strike. Serve, and the subsequent Shots, will deal an additional 5% / 10% (at 6) / 15% (at 11) and 20% (at 16) damage per hit.

When a **Serve **hits an enemy or neutral monster, they will be marked as the target. You can change the target once the Tennis Ball is launched by clicking on enemies and neutral monsters using Left click. This will NOT redirect the **Shot **or **Serve **if it didn't hit the target before the change. You can also Melee attack enemies and monsters while the Tennis Ball is in the air with Right click.

The Tennis Ball will bounce off of the target, and will land somewhere near Emma. If she's standing still, the Tennis Ball will always land on her. An indicator will show where the ball will land on the ground and if Emma reaches that location, or activates certain abilities, she will hit the Tennis Ball back to the target as a Shot.

A Shot will NEVER miss the target, regardless of range, unless direct vision is broken, with the exception of her Q. If vision IS broken, then the ball will land in the last spot where the target was at. If Emma is unable to get to the landing indicator, the ball will land in that area. This will **Ground **the Tennis Ball; Emma will be unable to **Serve **or **Shot **and will rely on her melee attack for damage.

Melee attacks do 20 (plus 20% of her total AD) **LESS **damage to Champions.

Emma will reclaim her Tennis Ball after 20 to 5 seconds (depending on Level). She can also walk towards the Grounded Tennis Ball to instantly reclaim it. Going back into Fountain will instantly reclaim her Tennis Ball.

Attack Speed will increase the Projectile Speed of the Tennis Ball's hit and return. Yasuo's Windwall, Braum's Shield, and any other ability that blocks/destroys projectiles will instantly **Ground **the Tennis Ball at the location where it first made contact with the ability.

(This was long, as this is her bread and butter. All her abilities revolve around this mechanic, and if the ball is grounded, it will be a huge disadvantage. Also, this is almost like Draven 's Spinning Axes, but instead of being a simple power spike for her autos, it's literally her whole kit.)

  • Q: Kill Shot

Can only be activated once the **Serve **or **Shot **has hit the Target and the ball is heading back towards Emma.

Mana Cost: 80 / 90 / 100 / 110 / 120 Cooldown: 15 / 13 / 11 / 9 / 7

Emma leaps into the air, gaining invulnerability and becoming untargetability for the brief duration, and she would then spike the Tennis Ball towards the target. It will deal an additional 35 / 70 / 110 / 140 / 170 plus 80% of Emma's total AD on top of the Shot's regular damage. Kill Shot will proc on-hit effects, but cannot critically strike. Her spike is so powerful, that the impact will cause a shock-wave around the target that would deal 30% of the total damage dealt to the target to enemies around the target. It will also slow the target by 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 % and will slow the surrounding enemies by 20% on all rank for 1 second.

  • W: Full Court Advantage

Mana Cost: 100 / 120 / 140 (Lvl. 1, 3 and 5) Cooldown: 50 / 45 / 40 / 35 / 30 / 25

Using her Hextech Racket, Emma gains vision of a large area around her. This vision is unaffected by terrain or bushes, thus allowing Emma to see enemy champions inside them. The vision granted is 2500 units (the same size as Nocturne 's Level 1 Indicator for his Ultimate) at Level 1, 2750 at Level 3 and 3000 at Level 5 (just smaller then Nocturne 's Level 2 Ultimate indicator) and it will last for 2 / 2.5 / 3 / 3.5 / 4 seconds.

She will also gain an additional 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 % Attack Speed during Full Court Advantage's duration.

  • E: Snap Shot / Save

Mana Cost: 20 at all ranks Cooldown: 15 at all ranks

With Snap Shot, Emma dashes in a direction. It's range is 500 units (slightly longer then Lucian 's) and it's range and direction can be altered before using the ability.

IF Emma dashes to an indicator location, and IF the Tennis Ball is near the indicator when returning, Emma will jump into the air and **Shoot **it back to the target. This **Shot **will be the same as if she just stood on the indicator except the dash will proc the Shot earlier. Also, unlike Kill Shot, Emma WILL NOT gain invulnerability or untargetability during the jump.

If she does launch a **Shot **using this ability, half of the mana will be refunded, and 7 / 10 / 15 seconds will be reduced from the ability.

If her Tennis Ball has been grounded, this ability will become Save. This dash will have two charges. Save will now be directed towards the location of the Tennis Ball at all times. Once you dash towards it, Emma will automatically pick the ball up, or if she did not make it using one charge, she can use the second one to close the gap. If she only used one charge, she can then use the second charge, which will only be active for 2 seconds, to re-position herself in any direction. Regardless if she used the second charge or not, after the 2 seconds, the ability will switch over to Snap Shot, and it will go on it's full cooldown.

Passive: On Her Toes

Snap Shot / Save's cooldown will not be affected by cooldown reduction items and runes. It will only be reduced by her total Movement Speed. Her base speed will give her the highest possible cooldown for the ability, 15 seconds.

Snap Shot and _Save _also have the ability to cleanse almost all Crowd Control abilities that are effecting Emma, with the exception of slows. Doing this will proc a 80 mana penalty and put the ability into a 20 second cooldown, that cannot be lowered by the first part of On Her Toes, connecting a Shot using this empowered dash or Cooldown reduction items and runes. Also, if the first charge of _Save_ is used with this empowered effect, then the ability will instantly go on Cooldown, regardless of whether or not the ball was recovered.

  • R: Game, Set, Match

Mana: 150 / 175 / 200 Cooldown: 200 / 170 / 150

Emma empowers herself using all of her Hextech gadgets to enhance her natural strength, speed and agility to there very limit.

Emma will gain 70% Tenacity and all her cooldowns on her basic abilities will automatically reset, even the cooldown caused by an empowered Snap Shot and _Save _ . Full Court Advantage will automatically activate, with no mana cost, and will be active for the FULL duration of the ultimate, even if she did not put a point into it before activating her ult. Emma will also gain double the Attack Speed that Full Court Advantage would have normally gave her.

Snap Shot / Save will lose the On Her Toes passives and its mana recovery during the duration of the Ultimate, however, each successful Shot launched using this ability will automatically refresh the cooldown.

Every successful Shot/Serve/Kill Shot will reduce the cooldown of Kill Shot by 1 second. 2 seconds will be reduced if the Target is a champion.

The return of the ball will now track/follow Emma as she moves, thus she would no longer need to reposition herself to hit the ball during the duration of Ultimate.

Game, Set, Match will last for 6 / 7 / 8 seconds. Once the Ultimate ends, Full Court Advantage will go on a 25 / 20 / 15 second Cooldown (that cannot be altered by items or runes). Snap Shot / Save will go on a 3 / 2.5 / 2 second cooldown (that cannot be altered by items or runes). Kill Shot will automatically get its cooldown refresh, if it was on cooldown at the end of the Ultimate.

Emma, exhausted by the experience, will also get a 40 / 30 / 20 % self-inflicted slow for 1 second after her Ultimate has finish.

What do you guys think? Too overpowered? Too punishing with the drawbacks? Or does the overpoweredness get balanced by the punishments?
