EDIT: Added tl:dr lore because his lore is REALLY long

Just as a foreword to this, Looking back, he seems a bit OP, considering the way that his passive, ulti and abilities interact. i did this so that he would not be limited to one specific play style, but rather can be played in a variety of ways. His passive will most likely affect stats, although it could be changed to affect other things (Let me know if you have any ideas!) I don't have any specific numbers, but they will most likely be pretty down-tuned (Except for Death's Trial when Skoldr's effects are active), considering the variety of things he can actually pull off. He would most definitely be played in the top lane (Yeah, I know "Ugh, another juggernaut"), although it is quite possible to throw in some AP scalings in there, making for a somewhat powerful mid laner. Now, on to the main event

Kronig, The Runic Warrior

P - Kronig's weapons and armor are enhanced through Runes which are bought from the shop with Blood Coins. All Runes cost 100 Blood Coins. Runes stack with diminishing returns.

1 Blood Coin is given for each minion/monster kill (2 for large minions/monsters and 5 for epic monster/champion kills or assists)

As I said, Runes will upgrade something, not sure what.

Q - Skoldr and Svero Swaps between sword and shield

Skoldr, the Runic Blade - Increases attack range Svero, the Runic shield - Increases armor and mr

Runic Might - Gives both sets of stats, doubling them, (Triples current weapon bonuses) and granting cdr. Kronig may still switch between weapons while Runic Might is active

W - Lacerate/Brute Force Skoldr - Applies stacks of laceration passively, increasing dmg dealt with Skoldr to the target

Svero - Bashes target, slowing and damaging them, causing all lacerations to bleed. Damage and slow strength increase with laceration stacks.

Runic might - both weapons apply stacks of laceration, shield bash stuns instead of slowing.

E - Flying Blade/Shield Toss Throws Skoldr/Svero Skoldr - Deals dmg to all units hit. When Skoldr reaches the end of its range, or hits an enemy champion, Kronig may re-activate the ability to dash to Skoldr's location

Svero - Deals dmg to all units hit, stopping at the first champion or end of range. If it hits an enemy champion, it stuns them

Using this ability swaps Kronig to the opposite weapon

Runic might - Throws Skoldr, allowing for a dash, smashing the targeted enemy with Svero, Stunning them. Does not switch active q effects when used.

R - Runic Might Kronig uses his runes to unleash his full power, drawing both Skoldr and Svero, and enhancing all of his abilities for 10 seconds. For the duration of this, Kronig may use Death's Trial

Death's Trial - Kronig charges for .5 seconds before executing a devastating attack based on which weapon he has activated. Skoldr - deals massive single-target dmg, resets cd on e Svero - deals some aoe dmg, knocking up and away all enemy units in the area

Thanks for taking the time to read this, and please let me know any feedback or ideas that you have!

EDIT: Decided to come up with some lore, as well as I may have forgotten to add an appearance in the first round. Kappa [zombie-brand-facepalm]

APPEARANCE Kronig is a large man, standing at nearly seven feet, extremely muscular, and he has the beard to match (It is very bushy on his face, but splits into three long, thin braids, with a slightly red tint, coming down to the bottom of his torso). He wears a necklace, with a shard of True Ice on it. His hair is long, but pulled back into a thin ponytail, which falls into the hood of his ragged brown fur tunic, which drapes only the right side, and back of his body. Large ice crystals have formed on his left shoulder, covering it. He wears a stone gauntlet on his right arm, which resembles a bear's paw, and has a clip where he attaches his shield. He has tribal-style tattoos all down his left arm. On his back, he wears a leather holster for his blade, alongside a clip where he attaches his shield. Beneath it, on his tunic, barely visible, is the symbol of the frostguard, torn up by harsh winters spent in the mountains. He wears light brown trousers, ragged, similar to the back of his tunic. His blade is a long, jagged sword, seemed to have been carved from stone, with a deep crimson tint emitting from it. His shield, also carved from stone, is battered and scratched, with a set of deep claw marks on the front. It carries a deep, dark blue tint, similar to the style of his sword (These colors are far more prominent when his ultimate is active; an aura of the color surrounds him). He also wears boots, which are made from leather, but have ice crystals formed at the top. While all of the ice is a deep blue, it carries a dark crimson tint in its core.

If there are any artists reading this who would like to do a sketch of what you think he looks like, that would be Awesome :D

RELATIONS Kind of, almost a friend Lissandra

Neutral Relations Sejuani Ashe

Enemies Braum

LORE

tl;dr: Kronig and his brother(Braum) are very different, Kronig being the darker of the two. He falls into the shadow of his brother's greatness, and become jealous. He then decides to create his own legacy of greatness, and is presented with the opportunity to stop an intruder who enters his family's home that night. He moves to kill the intruder with his knife, but it turns out it's his father, and so Kronig flees to the mountains out of shame. His brother finds him, and tries to bring him back to the village, but Kronig instead decides to stay in the mountains, and hold a grudge against his village, as he thinks he will be ridiculed. He shatters his knife, and a beautiful woman enters the cave, who teaches him survival skills, and how to carve stone. He carves for her for years, while she teaches him different things. He then carves the greatest blade he has ever made, which he gives to the woman as a gift for her kindness over the years. The woman then reveals herself as the Ice Witch (Lissandra), and she wishes for him to join her, but he refuses, so she teaches him one last lesson of runes, which can unlock the full potential of any weapon. She then leaves him with a reminder of who taught him what he knows: a large piece of True Ice, which he then uses to create Skoldr and Svero. He now travels the land, taking no alliances or affiliations, but taking every job he can, whatever it is, in order to restore what was taken from him, and to draw himself out of the shadow of his brother.

Full Lore

We have all been told the tales of the strong man and his shield, with his generosity, his kind heart. But what of those who were not so lucky to have been given such an opportunity.

What of those who are forgotten in the shadows of others.

With all good, there must be evil, or there would not be balance, and such is the case with Kronig.

On one fateful day, in a small Freljordian village, two twin boys were born, both large and healthy. In the early years, they were the best of friends, always together, despite their immense differences. One was outgoing, and had a heart of gold, caring and loving for all of those around him, while the other, known as Kronig, was more reserved, stubborn, and carried a somewhat dark presence, which drove people away from him.

As the brothers grew older, the began to separate, their personalities driving them apart. One doing astonishing feats, while Kronig began to fall in his brother's shadow. Filled with jealousy of the village's admiration of his brother, Kronig decided that he must accomplish a feat worthy of the village's praise.

With his new goal determined, the day of the brothers' sixteenth birthday came around, and the family came together. Their mother, like every year, gave them each a sweater, knitted from the wool of their sheep, but their father came forth with something of much greater interest to Kronig. He provided each of them with one of the finest knives he could find, and told them he would teach them to hunt the next day. Kronig and his brother thank their father for this kind gift and life lesson, then they went to bed.

Later that night, Kronig awoke to a loud crash, coming from inside of the cabin. The first thing that came to his mind, was that this would be the best opportunity he would get. Stopping an intruder in his own home, he was sure to get recognition from the village. He grabbed the knife his father had given him, and quietly moved out into the hall. In the kitchen, visible only by the moonlight, was the intruder. Kronig took this opportunity to jump on the shadowy figure, whom turned around at the last second,

and Kronig sunk his knife into his father's neck.

Kronig dropped to his knees, bawling, cradling his dying father's head. Kronig's brother ran out at the scream, and saw what he had done. Filled with terror of the consequences, and shame for what he had done, Kronig ran out into the cold night, and fled for the mountains which surrounded his village, with nothing but his knife, and the tunic on his back.

Kronig found a cave in which animals were hibernating for the winter, and decided to sleep among them for warmth that night. Upon waking, he saw that all the animals had fled, and there was a figure standing in the entrance. His brother.

"Come back to the village," His brother told him.

"Is father dead?" Kronig asked in a hushed tone. His brother looked away, dropping his head slightly. "ANSWER ME!" Kronig screamed.

"Yes." His brother replied softly. "Father died from the wound." Kronig's head dropped to his lap, and he began to sob deeply.

His brother began to move towards him "It's okay brother, we know that it was not your fault. We know it was an accident." But Kronig knew otherwise.

"You lie brother!" He shouted "The village will not have me back, and even if it would, what is left for me there? A life of angry glares, a life full of ridicule and shame?" Kronig lowered his voice at this "I will not take that chance brother. The mountains have more for me than that wretched place."

His brother slightly moved towards him, but Kronig stood, and brandished his knife. "Leave me brother, and do not return, for I have no wish to return, or to ever see you again." And so his brother left, as his kind heart told him not to provoke Kronig any further.

Out of frustration, Kronig threw his knife to the ground, shattering it. At this time, a woman rounded the corner, into the cave, the prime example of beauty herself. She had heard what had happened, and wished to help Kronig, so she taught him how to carve from stone, and create objects to live by.

Over the years, the woman stayed with him, giving him more lessons, and allowing him to improve his skill in carving. Eventually, his skill became to great that the woman sold them to merchants in trade for coin, so that they may buy wares to live with. Kronig became comfortable in his cave, carving day after day.

Then, at last, Kronig created his greatest carving of them all. A blade to rival even that of Demacian Steel. The woman was amazed at how far he had come, and so she revealed her true self.

She was the Ice Witch, and she wished for Kronig to join her ranks, and create weapons so she may take back what was hers. But he refused. He would not be a part of a war.

The witch then taught him one last lesson, that of Runes, and what they could unlock. She told him of all the things he could create, and all the things he could do with these Runes.

Before she parted, she left Kronig a give. A piece of True Ice. Kronig used this True Ice to forge himself the greatest creations he had ever made. Skoldr, his stone sword, and Svero, his stone shield, both with a core of True Ice, and engraved with Runes, they are truly two of the greatest weapons ever created.

Kronig now walks the land, taking every job that comes his way, no matter what it is, but making no alliances or affiliations. He traverses the mountains, finding stone to carve from, and selling his creations to merchants, in order to restore the honor to his name, and to pull himself from the shadow his brother had cast.

He wears the last of his True Ice in the form of a necklace, with the last words of the Ice Witch echoing throughout his head.

"Farewell Kronig. May this True Ice be of great use to you in the coming days, for you will need it. But it is not a gift, no, not at all. It is a reminder, that there is still a debt to be paid."

  • A Freljordian Childrens' Book, The Tale of The Mountain Man

Sidenote: I spent probably three hours writing that off of the top of my head. This is also technically the short version, as there was so much more that I wanted to add, but had to cut out so it wouldn't be insanely long.

Please let me know any feedback you might have! Thanks again for reading!

How do more people not like this? The idea is well thought out, witb an amazing mix of character design. Its like a mox of GP, Olaf, and Jayce in one (mechanics wise.) Should try bringing more attention to this!
