Solari Diana and Lunari Leona (Reverse Concept)

I'm a big Diana and Leona fan (they are my main mid/support roles), and I was thinking that this would be a solid skin concept. I know its not that original, but the concept has been done before, ex: Reverse Annie. (I acknowledge that this is not my art and therefore am also not taking any credit for what is portrayed here.) I hope that i'm not the only one who has thought of this idea as well. I've had this idea for the longest time, but I've actually only gotten the courage now to share the idea which I was sure to have already been put out here on the forums.

If clarity is an issue, then a concept to add to the skin that might help with clarity could be the idea of corruption. Both Diana and Leona have defected to their opposing sides, therefore leaving Diana's Solari abilities with a black/gold mix, black being from corruption obviously. With Leona's Lunari abilities, they could be colored a dark gray/silver chrome mix (emphasis on the dark gray/darker shades). I think this could differentiate the two a little better.

Here is what designers mean as "clarity":

When you look at an iPhone, you can tell it's an iPhone and not a Samsung.

When you look at Diana, you can tell she's Diana and not Leona.

Rek still looks like Rek, even on a jet ski.

You can't say "Well it's OBVIOUS that it's Diana!" When she looks EXACTLY like Leona. Nor can you say it would be "easy to tell" in game. There have been times where I play Kalista in norms against another Kalista, and we both use the Bloodmoon skin. Not going to lie, I sometimes get confused at which Kalista I am because there's real no "This is YOUR champion" other than names (which I have disabled) or the color of your health bar.

TL;DR:

You don't expect to pick up a phone that looks like a Samsung and see it running iOS. You don't except to see a iPhone and see it running Android. You don't except to walk into lane and see what looks like Diana and then get perma CC'd.

How could you not tell that it would be Leona and it would be Diana? I mean it really isn't that difficult. Leona has a shield for one while Diana does not. Diana's blade is funky looking and Leona's is a regular straight sword.

How is it that it'd be so difficult to tell the difference? It really wouldn't be.

Just as I previously stated in the above quote. There are a lot of differences. This is NOT playing the same champion so it is not like two Kalista. It is Diana (Curved sword no shield) and Leona (Straight sword WITH shield). I mean if people are really gonna get that confused....

Clarity is not really an issue. No shield vs shield. Curved sword vs straight sword. Only thing is that they color swapped.

I mean really I don't know exactly how there is ANY clarity issue besides people who for some reason can't see that one has a shield and the other doesn't.

Kalista and Kalista are the same champion (And having no names on is kinda on fault for you) which makes it hard, but these two are DIFFERENT champions. I really don't see any clarity issues.

The two things that change with these skins are color theme and shape language, both of which are major deciding factors in how you tell one champ from another. In that way, I can kind of understand what's going on with Imaginable. On the other hand, their stances and animations are definitely enough to distinguish the two on a whim, so I have no real problem with this idea. Looks cool. Interesting. Good.

I think the weapons alone a plenty of clarity personally.

I don't think the weapons themselves are the issue. I would guess it is a color pallet problem. Riot does not have a history of making skins or champions that are intentionally trying to imitate other champions base models. In a hectic fight no matter how many hours you have played and in a vacuum know the visual differences between Diana and Leona problems might occur.

The easiest to imagine would be if Diana was playing with her base skin and had a nearby Leona using the Lunari skin. In a hectic fight you have only a slit second to make a reaction to the skills that either champions are throwing your way. Even spending part of second registering which champion was coming your way could slow your reaction time making you get caught.

All that being said I freaking love the idea, so while I'm behind why Riot wouldn't add in skins like this, 10/10 I would buy the Diana one for sure.

I mean if people aren't complete idiots (I have faith) then their shouldn't be clarity issues. Especially if you are playing solari diana and your team doesn't even have a leona... (Leo is that yo... oh I'm dead.)

No, if clarity is an issue, then... A better way to make this happen... have two new champs for both the sun and moon. Diana could have an apprentice or come upon a member of the Lunari that was thought to be dead (frozen in time, reincarnated, etc. - mirror of Leona). Leona has another Solari that has achieved a level of fighting ability that is more on par with hers (mirror of Diana).

These champs could be released in tandem with a Mount Targon map and event. That'd be a nice touch.

I feel for this to be reality we would have to have them be a double legendary combo. Can't have Lunari Leona talking about how great the sun is and how we should praise it. and Vis Versa on Solari Diana hating the sun.

They could be a "traitor" line. IE Traitor Leona

I think it would be a cool skin concept,but the champs shouldn't completely take over the color schemes of each other(for example they could keep their hair colors and could have slightly different color schemes).

It sounds cool, but as mentioned in a few other ones there would be a couple of clarity issues. The names could be "Reverse Leona" and "Reverse Diana", though. Maybe as an April Fools thing?

These would be awesome, even if they had to be legendaries for new VA and stuff as someone mentioned. I don't have diana yet but I sure wouldn't mind getting buying her if this came out in a "solunar" bundle, and leona is a favorite support of course!

Diana certainly does. Even more so than Leona who already has a bunch. She only has two and I don't think you can buy the lunar goddess one right now. Unsure since I already bought it when it was available.

I really don't see how there would be a clarity issue. Recolor the abilities and boom you're good. Leona= Shield Diana= Candy Cane Shaped Sword Maybe one day we will get these awesome skins!
