1: Abilities
Adaptability - passive When taking on the form of any unit, Doppelganger assumes their base statistics as well, replacing her own. Statistics from items, runes and masteries still apply. Certain minimums are in place eg movespeed cannot drop below 280.
Doppelganger - Q Doppelganger assumes the form of target unit, ally, enemy or neutral. Details vary depending on target, passive applies. Low mana cost, 40-10 sec cooldown. Must be skilled first.
Neutral: Upon taking the form of a neutral monster, you gain 2 abilities in the place of your w and e. Recast q to exit form, each form lasts 10 sec. Krugs, w: Shields target ally (think karma shield). Could have circling rocks as animation. e: Straight line skillshot of Ahri q width which stuns first enemy unit for 1.00 second (duration scales with armour) Razorbeaks (auto range slightly higher than normal razor's) w: Auto modifier which does bonus damage, scaling with AD. Consumes mana per sec (cost static), regardless of how many attacks made. e: Skillshot silence, passes through units, long cooldown, reasonable mana cost (not too hefty). Wolves w: Passive, running within 50 units of a Murk wolf causes them to follow you, forming a pack with maximum 5 members. Wolves will attack enemy champions while in the pack, will disperse if form changed. e: Causes all allied units within a small area around Doppelganger to leap forward in target direction. Deals no damage but has short cooldown Gromp w: Generic medium strength skillshot nuke which applies a mini stun on contact. Scales moderately with ap. e: Large circular aoe nuke with very short range, 1.0 second delay. Scales well with ap. Works on towers at 10% of normal damage. Blue Buff w: Passive, blue buff (transfers buff to killer if you die in this form) e: Smash small cone aoe in front of Doppelganger. Scales poorly with ap. Red Buff w: Passive, red buff (transfers buff to killer if you die in this form) e: Scratches small cone aoe in front of Doppelganger. Applies on hit effects. Dragon (Drag form will just be recoloured normal champ model with small wings and horns) Max 1 drag form available, new will replace old. w: Passive, buff of relevant dragon at max rank (elder burn at minimum rank) e: You can fly for 2 seconds, gaining flying vision (no terrain block, 1300 radius, can't see in bushes) and can move over terrain. Medium cooldown. Baron ( Baron form recoloured normal champ model with baron headdress and tentacles) w: Barons poison pools, apply magic resist debuff as well as damage. Scale well, but not exceptionally with ap. e: Baron tail knock up. Herald (smaller model of herald) w: mini version of herald buff e: Basically blue buff smash.
Ally: upon taking form of allied champion or creep you gain relevant w ability. Minion w is a small aoe stun around minion with very high cooldown. Recast Q to exit form, lasts 20 sec for minions and 5 for champions.
Enemy: Same as ally. Can take allied damage during this time but the same applies to the targeted enemy.
Identity - W and E Each spell stores up to 3 forms which can be stored by hitting hotkey twice and typing in name of unit. Form must have been previously assumed in order to be stored, max 1 dragon type. No enemy champions can be stored. Pressing hotkey once brings up three small icons above HUD (think kindred) labeled one two and three. Pressing the relevant number causes champion to assume that form as if q had been cast. 30-13 second cooldown for each skill, timer not shared, medium high mana cost.
Cornered animal - ultimate Reduces cooldowns by 50/65/80% for 10 seconds , in all forms. Long cooldown and high mana cost
2: Gameplay The game play for this character is, well, varied. The aim is for the player to change between forms as the situation requires. Depending on the role being filled, different actions will be taken. For instance, as ADC you would probably stick to razorbeaks for the most part whereas a midlaner would favour gromp or baron. During mid to late game, however, the player should be attempting to cycle through forms to maximum effect eg. Use krug's stun then switch to gromp for the delayed nuke then baron for the knock up etc. As evident from the example, this would be a very mechanically intensive champion if attempting to use to max potential, but if used right, could be devastating. Each form would have certain characteristics with regards to base stats, based on logic and hopefully balance. Gromp would be slow, Krugs tanky, blue buff would have a high mana pool and so on. The gank and roaming potential is also quite good as you can disguise yourself as a lane minion to sneak in. You could also transform into an enemy lane minion to proxy farm. At first glance that may seem overpowered but remember, item statistics remain constant. The observant player should notice if an enemy minion is pathing strangely, has more armour than normal or is simply moving too fast. The enemy form taking would be useful in teamfights as it allows a team to inadvertently kill their own members, especially with aoe abilities. whereas ally form taking could confuse the hell out of enemies. Base form would be ranged with meh base stats. Pretty much completely average.
3: Character concepts During horrendous atrocities of the rune wars, the world was saturated with wild, uncontrollable magic, giving birth to creatures that should have never existed, granting life to concepts better left to the imagination. One such creation was the Doppelganger. Born to ordinary peasant parents, she was at first an ordinary child. But over the years those around her began to notice that something was wrong. Sometimes, one would swear she had a different nose to yesterday,others noted the strange way in which her eyes were never the same colour each time you looked at them. Once someone even swore they had seen claws. Having never seen such a child the parents believed this to be a changeling, demon-spawn and no longer their own. In a desperate act of panic, they left her out into the woods to die. Only she didn't. Using her powers of shapeshifting, she slowly began to explore and learn about the world around her, hibernating with the bears in winter, singing with the birds in spring. Years went by and her memory of bodies grew and grew, from the most benevolent of butterflies to the most ferocious predator, she wanted them all. Naturally, she was delighted when she discovered the existance League of legends and her eagerness to join on its own was nearly enough to grant her acceptance. Now she prowls the rift, taking advantage of the perfect opportunity to explore the best bodies the world has to offer.
