Warwick turned into a half mechanical monster? so far disappointed in the idea.

I just want to start off by saying I have been a fan and gamer of League of Legends for 4 to 5 years now. Because of the game play being almost similar to chess and many great games that are out there in the video gaming industry. I am quite humble to say I love how League of Legends comes up with new champions concepts and creating new ways to evolve their gaming. One of my favorite champions I love to play and just a super big fan of is Warwick. I have always been a fan werewolves since I been in high school. But, I fear that League of Legends made a mistake in making Warwick into this half mechanical monster. Whatever happened to Warwick being a true werewolf that we all heard about in classical stories. Werewolves are beasts not some augmented werewolf with green tubes that looks similar to Frankenstein. If you changed the look of Vladimir the vampire on League of Legends into a half mechanical monster, would you not think that is kinda funny looking? I just hoped that League of Legends would have taken a different direction in creating Warwick's Rework in the look department. I hoped that Warwick would have become a more detailed scary beast than a Frankenstein werewolf. I still look forward in seeing Warwick abilities when he comes out on the update. I do not expect League of Legends to change Warwick now since they work so hard to create him and the update is about to come out soon. I just wanted to voice out my opinion as yours truly League of Legends fan.

Warwicks lore was always not that of a "normal" werewolf. The classic werewolf is a person transforming into a wolf at full moon, caused by a curse. Warwick does not transform into a wolf and back, he is always in his wolf form and the transmutation was not because of a curse, but because of an alchemical experiment with a potion from Singed.

The only thing that changed is that Warwick and Singed weren't friends beforehand and Warwick was actually asking for the potion. Now Warwick was a murderer, caught by Singed for his experiments and turned into a monster by force. I prefer the new lore, it is darker and fits the characters of Zaun more in my opinion. And I love the alchemical tubes Warwick got, his new design is definitely a selling point for me. The old Warwick was just too simple and boring in design. But no matter how his kit turns out, I will definitely play the new version of Warwick.

Actually no, seems like the updated Warwick has no lore connection to Soraka anymore. In the stream today they said they will update almost all the lore of LoL, updating Soraka's lore is just a question of time.

Well Warwick technically does not have to turn back into a human in order to be"official" called a werewolf. He can permanently be in werewolf form and still be called a werewolf.Yeah and I knew about the story about how Singed gave him a potion that turn him into Warwick. All that League of Legends did is give Warwick a different story to becoming a werewolf. Warwick is a werewolf period. I do not care for the chemical tubes or the tools that are inside Warwick body and outside. Worst of all it looks completely ugly on a werewolf that League of Legends did too him. So I guess your not a fan of werewolves in general when they look like a natural beast the way that they are. The only difference with the old Warwick is he had armor on him. Which is not a bad thing, it just makes him look godly werewolf. If it were me that created him I would have made him incredibly epic looking.Warwick

I understand that you dislike his new design since you prefer the "natural beast". While I like werewolfs, I really enjoy steampunk elements and alchemy in general. That's why the new Warwick is great for me, combination of steampunk elements and he is running by alchemy. ^^

In my opinion, it fits more when it comes to lore. Warwick is from Zaun, but nothing about him showed that aspect. Many people didn't even know that he is from Zaun. That natural beast werewolf you are describing would fit more into the lore of the Shadow isles, if you ask me. But in the end it is all just about opinions and taste.

I think Riot made a great job with that Warwick rework. The old version was just plain boring for me, but that new chimera (no werewolf anymore, he has genes from bats, wolfs, foxes and many more creatures, all selected by the genius scientist Singed to create the perfect hunter) driven by alchemical mixtures is really exciting and I can't wait to go on the hunt. :^)

Plus I like how his new kit clearly has a gameplay direction now; his old kit was kinda bland and only really had the suppression ult going for it, while this new Warwick looks like the ultimate nightmare for squishy, isolated targets.

yeah I saw where they talked about Singed used gene splicing on Warwick using bat like ears and foxes tail. I really would not even want to say he is a wolf at all anymore. He mine as well be 20% wolf and other creatures make up the rest of Warwick. I admired League of Legends in creating this new Warwick design it just shows how creative they really are in creating characters. Warwick did need a update but not towards that direction that League created him. I seen better designs on how Warwick should have looked and would be quite scarier than this one. The only thing they did not mess up is his new abilities. And none of his news skins really have the natural werewolf design so far that I saw. I will probably will use another jungler champion such as Udyer to kill this abomination Warwick that deserves to die. I guess you must be going on the hunt as a fox or bat because it sure as hell is not a wolf that is for sure :(.

Well, did you look at the updated "Grey Warwick" skin? Seems like this is the closest to the "classical werewolf", he is darker and instead of these alchemical tubes he has a sword sticking in his back. I know that skin is not available anymore, but Riot stated that they want to make this skin (and medieval Twitch, which I desperately want) available again some day in the future.

So maybe not all hope is lost for your werewolf fantasy. ^^

Werewolf just means something along the lines of "man wolf" , which is still what he is. He's a humanoid wolf. He was never a "turns at the full moon" werewolf to begin with.

Also, his new features kinda highlight the fact that he is from Zaun. It's more noticeable now, like, before I had no idea he was even from Zaun. A lot of people from Zaun have altered their bodies somehow, and seeing has he was experimented on it makes sense.

His in game model is going to look so much nicer now (I hope) so let's just wait and see

yeah well that obvious we all know the classical story of it. But if you were a beginner at League of Legends you would say that "Warwick looks like a werewolf." And pretty much he is and League of Legends all they did is change up the story to be different that is all.

Vlad isn't a vampire, he's a bloodmancer. There are no true vampires in league (though some theorize evelynn might be one).

The tubes may need getting used to, but who knows we'll have to see his in-game model and kit, maybe they'll fit much better.

Vlad skins tells me otherwise because of the skins are similar to vampires. True we will have to see his game play abilities of Warwick. But, if his classic skin changes to that deformed werewolf then I will not care to play him ever again. I will only play with a real werewolf. I appreciate your opinion though thank you :)

Skins has absolutely nothing to do with their lore or character at all, except special old cases like Queen Ashe.

I hope so too. But if they make his abilities become weird like Singed the character from League. With any green stuff coming out of his claws. I will never play him again.

I doubt either of those skins will have chemicals running through it's body. His default skin will probably show signs of the chemtech that created him though.

yeah your probably right. I just do not care for that new design. It just needs to look epic like William the wereolf from the Underworld movie or Van Helsing wereolf. The true classical look

Hemomancer, but hey, almost, right? If you correct someone, you should double check if you are correct yourself. xD

Edit: Double checked myself before posting this and couldn't find the word Haemomancer existing, turned out it exists too. :P Sorry for that.

Actually, both "Hemomancer" and "Haemomancer" are correct, as they are just regional equivalents. In British English, certain words are spelled differently than in American English. Some examples would be "Faetus" as opposed to "Fetus," "Paediatrician" as opposed to "Pediatrician," and "Faecal" as opposed to "Fecal."

Riot doesn't like making just an archetype as a champion now. That's why even now we don't have a normal cavalry champion. Hecarim is an undead centaur that used to be a mounted soldier, Sejuani doesn't have a horse, and same with Kled.
