pause button for updates

i have noticed that most of all MOBA's and even MMO's have a pause button for their updates, example: smite, dota 2, star wars the the old republic etc etc, and it is bothering me that league is one of thee well known games and popular games but does not have something as simple as a pause button for their updates ( ._____.) so it would be nice if riot could put that :)
