Akali Skin Ideas

has more skins than a lot of champs, but I definitely feel she's in line for a new one. All of her current skins are basically recolours, and the splashes are all pretty rough around the edges (except Blood Moon).

Her last skin was released in 2011, in fact! So I feel like she should be in line to get a "modern" skin at some point.

It doesn't help that there's not a lot of room to work with on Akali (at least compared to most champs). Her attacks/spells are generally pretty subtle and efficient, and that's one of the things I like about her (and is fitting for a ninja besides), but it is problematic when it comes to making cool skins. She doesn't really have anything flashy or notable to build on, animation/effects wise. The only exception being her shroud, which could (but doesn't) look cool.

So, let's discuss ideas! Post concepts and artwork! Or whatever else comes to mind.

Sandstorm Akali

Pretty straightforward, I think. Simple but cool. Obviously her shroud would become a sandstorm, and some kind of sandy type effects could be added to her other abilities. Shouldn't be too hard to give her an Egyptian- or Arabian-themed weapon, or something else fitting.

P.S. This isn't actually Akali artwork, it's of some other character, and the weapons are all wrong, but it's relevant enough.

Not (just) an excuse to dress her in transparent silk! Lots of added room for some particle effects or to spice things up. And really, the concept just seems to fit pretty well, while still being quite distinct.

Deathblade Akali

Well, I think the art speaks for itself. Again, plenty room to spice up her attacks or add particle effects. And it just looks awesome. Really awesome. Also a pretty cool concept for a "Shockblade Akali" or something, if you swap the green/death themes for lightning.

I'm not sure if this would make a great skin, but I am sure that Akali knows the most efficient way to a man's (or woman's) heart so it seems fitting.
