The Plague Doctor
Lore:
The people of Zaun had a problem. Disease and infecton were running rampant. The plague had come to town. All the local doctors, and some foreign ones, tried their best to fight it, but the either fled or succumbed to it.
But then there came a man. At least, the people of Zaun assumed it was a man. He (or was it a she?) was the right build, the right height. That was all they truly knew of him, for he perpetally wore the same dark cloak, the same darl boots, the same mask, with its long, needle-like nose and its soulless eyes. He clled himself the Plague Doctor, he said he could cure the disease, and the people of Zaun believed him, because they needed a miracle.
The Plague Doctor went from house to house, examining the sick, for day after day. And like a miracle, those he left were cured.
They praised him, they praised their dark saint who came when they were at there lowest and cured them of their ills. Then the Plague Doctor asked them for a place to stay, a place to do his experiments in peace. The peple of Zaun were all to happy to oblige, for tr Plaue Doctor had just saved them.
A year passed without comment. Then, someone asked the Plague Doctor dissappeared into the sewars so much. More people asked the Plague Doctor why that person suddenly died of some strange new illness. More diseases began to target the people who questioned the Plague Doctor.
Finaly, the peopl of Zaun stormed the home of the Plague Doctor. They found not a hint of him anywhere in the city, but they found some leftover notes from his experiments, notes that told of subjects, subjects that matched certain missing people lists, notes that told of experiments , experimnts too hideous to describe, notes that told of his associate, the Plague Rat namd Twitch
Every there was written, on the papers and on the walls, the same phrase, over and over, in the language of obsession. The phrase that showed his purpose, a dark purpose. Gods save Runeterra if he succeeds.
"The Perfect Disease... I will find you, and I will glory in you."
Kit:
Passive: all damage sources from the Plague Doctor increased per enemy champion suffering from a plague debuff.
Q- Pultrid Boils: Can only be used on someone with Plague debuff. Boils erupt on target's skin, causing damage to the target, and rooting it and nearby enemies. The Plague debuff is consumed once the root is finished.
W- Plague: gets charges of Plague which can be cast in rapid succession (high cooldown to get new Plague casts). Plague is an AOE skillshot (small area of affect) that bursts on first enemy hit (either enemy champ or minion). Affected enemies suffer the Plague debuff, which slows the target and does DOT.
E- Hacking Cough: Can only be used on someone with Plague debuff. The target coughs, doing a small amount of damage to itself and causing all nearby enemy to get the plague debuffs as well. If there are enemies within range, the target's Plague debuff is consumed. If there are none, the target's current Plague debuff duration is doubled.
R- Feverish Dreams: Can only be cast on someone with Plague debuff. The target no longer can see outside the target's LOS or the minimap (like with Nocturne's ult, but for the single target). The target sees targetable clones of a random number of enemy champions (the Plague Doctor's allies), sometimes repeats of the same enemy, near the target. The clones move to attack the target, and cannot deal damage. The duration of Feverish Dreams is the remaining duration of the Plague debuff of the target. The duration of Feverish Dreams remains unaffected if the Plague debuff ends early or is extended.
Playstyle: The Plague Doctor (henceforth abrviated to PD) is a late game teamfighter. He is capable of dealing large amounts of damage over a period of time. PD is best suited with an AOE team comp, and with champions that aid him spreading the Plague debuff to as may enemies as possible (for example, Amumu and Orianna).
His principle combo, while against a single champion, is W-E-Q-W--R, which allows him to maximise his safety. By using his ultimate last, PD can safely finish his target with auto attacks while hidden by clones (hopefully a PD clone or two), or let a ganking ally finish the enemy. However, his damage, unless he is severely fed, might not be enough to finish off all but the most squishiest of champions, as his base damage is small, so in some cases it might be better to switch the R and the Q, so as to allow PD to retreat while the enemy is rooted.
In team fights his goal is to keep as many enemy champions with plague debuffs as possible. Here, PD's goal is to throw out as many Ws as possible, E those people with the debuff and near other, healthy, enemies, and Q anybody that needs rooting. However, his most helpful contribution is his R. Placed on the right champion, it can win a teamfight. The most likely candidate is the ADC. With the fake clones running around, the ADC might not be able to figure out which champions are the real ones while the rest of his team (or the ADC) is defeated.
Strengths:
- Teamfighting. His damage is highest when he has multiple enemes to take down.
- Kiting. With his rooting Q and slowing W, he can kite a single targe effectively, keeping himself away from the enemy's weapons while PD's plagues keep lowering their health bar.
- Pushing. Though his damage isn't increased by infecting minions, he can quite easily clear waves by doing so, by starting with his W and following up with a quick E.
Weaknesses/Outplayability:
- PD is immobile. A good assassin can easily tear him down, with little threat to him/herself, as PD's damage relies on A) multiple target, and B) time. Though he has some CC abilities, the assassin usually won't give him time to use them.
- Teammates. Though having multiple enemies around helps PD's damage, they also are a mjor pain in his neck. Anybody affected by PD's R can simply attack the same targets as his teammates, and ignore the fake targets.
- Early Game. If PD is denied gold, the PD cannot get the AP items he needs to do damage, even with is passive. Though his W might prove annoying, simply keep minions between you and PD and you'll be safe.
