First Star Cosplay

So I am new to the cosplay scene well more like I've been watching from the sidelines and now I'm starting to get into it myself. So of course me being me I have to make a scene so I'm doing something that is slightly controversial. The group I'm going to the convention with in January are all going at the Star Guardians. When this idea first came about I jokingly said "Hey wouldn't it be funny if I just got a yellow t-shirt, wrote 'First Star' on it in sharpie and pose with y'all?" Well now it's a full blown Cosplay concept and design but I need some help from the community. Because not much is known about the Forst Star I was interpreting the lore as the entity is losing power hence the call of the second group of Guardians. So I have a blot of black and gold elements in my costume. However I'm not sure if I should keep that theme or change it to white an gold. Now another reason I chose black is because I suffer from body dysphoria because I am obese. I have a thyroid condition and it hard for me to lose weight. Thays another reason I chose a character with no set design. Because I have more freedom to do something that makes me feel comfortable. So far I'm really liking the majority of what I've done but I just need some more information from the community. Is there something that I've missed about the First Star lore wise? Should I add a white cape maybe to the black clothing? Any help would be appreciated!
