                                                           Isra, the Lake's Will

Physique: Isra is based on Tarantula in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhCi27XqbHU. His tentacles look like the ones in Apocrypha in Skyrim, Elder Scrolls V. He is meant to be a very dark and sinister and scary character. Isra's entire kit is based on tentacles, which he gets over time and allow his abilities to become stronger as he stacks them.

Base stats: Health: 524-1884 Attack Damage: 52-100 Health Regen: 6.9-16.3 Attack Speed: 0.625 (+0%-34.0%) Armor: 19-70 Magic Resistance: 30 Melee: 125 Movement Speed: 330

Passive: Isra gets 1 tentacle every 10 seconds with a max of 5/8/11/14 (1/6/11/16) tentacles at a time. Cooldown Reduction also makes him get tentacles faster (20% CDR allows tentacles to "grow" 20% faster). When he auto-attacks whilst having at least one tentacle, his tentacles attack for him, dealing 5 (+0.05 AP) damage per tentacle + his normal auto-attack damage with a range of 550 (note that the tentacle empowered auto-attacks are ranged, not melee).

Q: Isra's tentacles lash forward, damaging the first enemy hit by 50/70/90/110/130 + (40% Ability Power) + 10/20/30/40/50 + (10% Ability Power) and slowing him for 10/12.5/15/17.5/20% + 10/15/20/25/30% per tentacle. (Note that this ability can consume a max of 1/2/3/4/5 tentacles). Exceeding a 100% slow causes the target to be stunned. (For Example:100% slow = 1 sec stun, 200% slow = 2 sec stun) This ability has a 10/9.25/8.5/7.75/7 second cooldown.

W: Isra's tentacles burrow underground and erupt of the ground, dealing 40/65/90/115/140 damage + (40% Ability Power) + 10/20/30/40/50 damage + (10% Ability Power) per tentacle consumed (Note that these can consume a max of 1/2/3/4/5 tentacles) and pushing enemies aside and slowing them for 10/15/20/25/30% + 8/16/24/32/40% per tentacle. Exceeding 100% slow causes the target to be knocked up for 1 second and the remaining slow percentage turns into a stun. (For Example: 100% slow = 1 sec knock up, 150% slow = 1 sec knock up + 0.5 sec stun, 200% slow = 1 sec knock up + 1 sec stun) This ability has a 10/9.5/9/8.5/8 second cooldown.

E: Passive: Isra's tentacles are voracious, gaining increased speed as they are used. Passively, attacking an enemy unit grants an additional +10/12/14/15/17% attack speed for each auto-attack empowered by a tentacle. This stacks up to a maximum of +30/35/40/45/50% attack speed and decays after 3/3.5/4/4.5/5 seconds of not auto attacking. Active: Isra's tentacles lust for blood, and each auto attack grants him an extra tentacle for the next 3/3.5/4/4.5/5 seconds. His tentacle empowered auto-attacks also deal 5 extra damage per tentacle. This ability has a 20/18.5/17/15.5/14 second cooldown.

R: Isra enrages, and awakens his slumbering tentacles. The next ability he casts is free and has the maximum amount of power. Using his E for his ultimate immediately grants him full attack speed. This ability has a 45/40/35 second cooldown.

Lore: Asra was a young boy, who was killed and brought back to life by the Shadow Isles as a minion to the land. His mission is to slay any none spectral being in the Shadow Isles.

When Asra was 16, his parents brought him on their ship to show him how to fish, as they were fishers. When they were out in the ocean to catch fish, a violent storm made their ship crash in the shadow isles. When he came back to consciousness, Asra saw his parents dead, and ran away deeper in the land. When he encountered a large lake, he bent over it and dropped to his knees, crying from all the horrors that he encountered in the Shadow Isles and his lost family. Suddenly, tentacles emerged from the dark pond and slew him.

After, he awoke, as a form of pure and twisted energy. He realized that the Shadow Isles did not slay him, but rather empower him. He was no longer Asra. He was Isra. Tentacles came out of his back, slaying anything that he wished them too. But he wasn't only empowered, he was controlled by the sinister lake of the Shadow Isles. He could no longer choose what he wanted to do or not. The lake gave him the command to slay any none spectral being in the Shadow Isles. Since then, Isra enjoyed a massive killing spree of any human idiotic enough to venture into the Shadow Isles...

First of all, I don't know how tentacle consumption works, but if you want each skill to use the best version possible you need to define what the maximum tentacles used in each ability can be. A few suggestions. With tentacles, his cc and damage can scale per tentacle. For example, his Q can slow by 8/10/12/14/16% + 10/15/20/25/30% per tentacle. Then he can stun for 2 seconds or so by inflicting 100% or more slow. It gives him a much clearer scaling strength without forcing a person to optimize on power spikes at 4 and 7 tentacles. Additionally, it makes it far easier to stack up your maximum stun (it consumes 10 tentacles at level 1 and only 5 tentacles at level 5) as you level up. The same thing for W, slowing by 30/35/40/45/50% per tentacle and knocking away. If the slow exceeds 100% (4 tentacles level 1, 2 tentacles level 5), it becomes a 1 second knockup and stun with a duration of .25/.33/.33/.33/.5 seconds per tentacle, maxing out at 2/2.5/3/3.5/4 seconds between the knockup and stun (max 8 tentacles consumed at all levels). The only thing is, it would need to be extremely telegraphed and possibly involve channeling for a full second to make it fair. If you don't have an idea of what to put on his kit for E, can I suggest something? So far, this champ seems to be about cc chains and stacking tentacles while using passive auto damage to beat the hell out of the poor son of a gun. So what about giving him an auto attack steroid to amp that sucker up?

His tentacles are voracious, gaining increased speed as they are used. Passively, attacking enemy champions grants an additional +1/2/3/4/5% attack speed for each tentacle that deals damage. This stacks up to a maximum of +100% attack speed and decays after 4/4/5/5/6 seconds of not auto attacking. On activation, his auto attacks grant him extra tentacles each time he attacks an enemy over the next 3/3/4/4/5 seconds.

This gives him extra tentacles when he needs them quick and encourages more of the build-up mechanic enforced by the tentacle resource to maximize his damage in lane. He seems like a cool midlaner with high harass potential and cc chains, so I designed this ability around that concept. On the other hand, very much opposed to his regular play, his ultimate seems to encourage diving into the enemy team and scattering them randomly (Q + W combo). The only ability that seems to follow the same concept is the E, which removes a lot of the skill and stacking power which made his kit cool. I think using his ult should be kind of like Karma's(?) with a comparable cooldown, allowing him to use his next spell for no cost as if it was a fully stacked version of that spell. That means instantly stacking his attack speed to +100% if he uses his ult with E. With this, Tarantula guy develops a very interesting playstyle involving using his tentacles sparingly along with his ult and managing his resources wisely before a teamfight. Paired with cc champs like Morgana, he could potentially cc an enemy for up to 10.5 seconds. Add in another champ like Nautilus or Gnar and HOLY CRAP THAT'S SO OP. On the other hand, he's still pretty balanced because of very clear counterplay and moments of weakness. I'd actually like to play him, even if he doesn't really match up with the Tarantula in the video. Your concept is really cool and I really hope you continue to improve on it :) Reviewer, away!summoner 4

Bro, I actually really do like the idea for his E, i really do like it. Thanks :D

TheOneLlama1 votes

Oh yeah and thanks for the idea of each tentacle adding dmg and etc, bro, you are awesome.

TheFirstGokun1 votes

No prob bb, this is one of my favorite hobbies :) You'll find me on a lot of the champion concepts on this board.

TheOneLlama1 votes

really? lol XD

Seriously, this guy is on every concept thread. Dude is awesome.

TheFirstGokun1 votes

awwwww, ty :)

TheOneLlama1 votes

I just made the changes that you suggested, with a little of my own tweaks.

TheFirstGokun1 votes

I see the changes, but you still haven't fixed Tentacle consumption. How many tentacles is each skill supposed to consume? Do they consume any tentacles at all? In that case, how does he lose tentacles? What is the max stack of tentacles, and does it scale up? I just feel like this page has gotten more confusing thanks to me :/ On another note, Tarantula is a nice enough name for a champ. We'd just have to change that up a bit... hmm... Ta... Taran... Tah'ran Tuul? Tar'Thuul? Y'know, like the Void champs? Yeah, that works. Maybe? Nah, nvm.

About the tentacle consumption, that's the problem, I don't know what to do. My one "problem" with the champion is that I don't know if when he uses an ability it uses the max amount of tentacles, which i was thinking towards 5 or something, and i really don't know how to allow the person to maximize the damage of one of his abilities while allowing him to keep the amount of tentacles needed to render an ability useful. I feel as if tentacle consumption is his main flaw, not mechanically but theoretically. To answer the tentacle consumption, yes, the amount of additional tentacles DOES make the ability stronger.

TheOneLlama1 votes

And I can't really tell you the name yet, because I'm unsure as to whether or not he is a void champion. He could also come from the Shadow Isles maybe or something. That is partially why I won't name him yet.

Read my original post, it has some ideas on gating late game tentacle costs. While early game using one skill is pretty much all you get, late game his skills reach maximum potential cc at 5 and 8 tentacles for Q and W respectively (keep in mind this was when you said 10 was the max tentacles), and therefore only cost that much. The only 'problem' with this is that his damage won't scale as high if the cc maxes out earlier, so damage stacking should cap at 5 and 8 tentacles for Q and W respectively. Another option is to grant more tentacle capacity as he levels up, from the current 5 to 8/11/14 (scaling at levels 6/11/16). Also, why did you change the ultimate? Before it granted free full stacks, now it grants 5 tentacles. This is less than he would have gained before (considering the ability was free like Karma ulti) and now it damages him for 20% max health? This is a huge step in the wrong direction: it doesn't fit his playstyle, it's non-interactive and just doesn't feel like a good tradeoff most of the time (because this guy's not supposed to be the biggest front line tank, more like an AP cc support tank). Additionally, now that we know he is melee, it needs to be specified whether his tentacles can attack enemies that he targets with auto attacks without getting in auto attack range himself. Are they kind of like moving Heimer turrets that need to be directed and otherwise attack anything? It also means his passive base damage per stack should be raised, as his ranged damage is know severely gated by his one/two/three spellcasts. Still, you've been putting some good work into this concept. I hope I can play him someday :) Reviewer, away!summoner 4

Thats what you meant with the max capacity... I didn't fully understand what you meant with that. And about the ulti, as 5 was the max amount of tentacle stacks, it was essentially casting an ability for free. But now that i understand the max capacity, I feel as if I will be changing the ulti and passive. Otherwise, on my opinion, he's supposed to be played as an AP midlaner, with alot of burst through his maxed out combos. And the tantacles auto-attack for him, by that I mean, having a tentacle stops him from his normal autos, and the tentacles are ranged and deal the damage. I hope it's not too confusing. Anyways, thank you :D

Sounds interesting. Me personallly the slows per tentacle once maxed seem a little high, but it seems like a nice mechanic for a champ. As for title, I would think something like "The Lake's Hunter" or "The Lake's Will" since the lake of the shadow isles seems to be the biggest part of his lore. Just my opinion, hopeit helps.

TheOneLlama1 votes

Great idea man! Sry if i couldn't answer earlier, i was on vaca.

Poison TraiI1 votes

maybe his e could be that he creates more tentacles?

TheOneLlama1 votes

I thought of that but I felt it would be kinda light for an ability.

Photon Arrows1 votes

How about his R shoots out all of his tentacles in a cone like Syndra, but he takes a bit of damage for each tentacle so then he isn't completely broken. Also, what if is W was where he puts his tentacle underground and instead of pushing the target up it hits him to the target location to give him an escape/gap closer.

Photon Arrows1 votes

Or his W could pull him back and slingshot him to the target location like Zac.

Photon Arrows2 votes

And how about the tentacle growth starts at 1 every 15 seconds and gets shorter every time he levels up by .5 of a second. That could be his passive.

TheOneLlama1 votes

First off about his W, in my mind, his strong point is to CC an enemy during his tentacle power spikes meanwhile pummeling him with his tentacle passive and his empowered W and Q. I feel as if a champion with CC, dmg, and easy CSing is very op, so his flaws are his weakness after having consumed all the tentacles, his lack of mobility, and his early game weakness (as early game, his tentacles aren't powerful enough and take too long to be created). That's why I feel that his current W goes pretty well with his kit and that adding mobility kinda ruins the kit. As for the passive, him getting tentacles faster as he levels up is implied, although him getting a tentacle every 4 seconds without counting the CDR idea is kinda op.

Photon Arrows1 votes

Ok I get your point and I think it is a great idea

TheOneLlama1 votes

I just made massive changes to make this actually look more professional and added a lore and holy shiet i'm tired.

Photon Arrows1 votes

You should make his name TAHRantula just cause he is trying to keep a sliver of his old self

TheOneLlama1 votes

Maybe, but i feel that him having a name that designates something dark and powerful makes HIM be dark and powerful, plus, Tahrantula would be pronounced Tahr'-ant-shoola. Whereas it should be pronounced Ter-ant-shoola.

Photon Arrows1 votes

How about Merma? It is based off of spider in Albanian which is "merimange".

TheOneLlama1 votes

Maybe... I like the way it ties to spider in a language... I might make a name similar to Merma... Anyways, I will research to find a better name than Tarantula.

TheOneLlama1 votes

Okay, I looked at multiple different ways of how to name him, and I found that the names Asra and Isra both derive from Arabic words, signifying "Travel at night" and "Nocturnal Journey". Maybe this could be a cool way to name him as, as Dymys Unwritten said, "I they're tentacles and not legs, why is his name "Tarantula?". So maybe the names Isra or Asra could suit his evil and dark personality, especially as Shadow Isles characters have normal names.

Photon Arrows1 votes

Yea i vote isra cause it sounds dark mysterious and just straight up cool

TheOneLlama1 votes

Yeah, I was thinking of Isra too. Although Asra could become Asraël or something come to think of it... But yeah, Isra probably

TheFirstGokun1 votes

Asrael, Ezreal? ;)

TheOneLlama1 votes

Better Idea, how about Israël?!?!?! lol jk, i think ima use Isra.

Photon Arrows1 votes

Hey I posted an idea it is called New Darkin Idea. Please search it and tell me what you think there. Thanks.

TheOneLlama1 votes

I know, realized afterwards XD

TheOneLlama1 votes

Can you send me a link plz?

TheOneLlama1 votes

Can you send me a link please? I searched but I can't seem to find it...

Dymys Unwritten1 votes

I they're tentacles and not legs, why is his name "Tarantula?"

TheOneLlama1 votes

Because he is based on the stick figure guy thing and his name is Tarantuala, also because I have no better idea for a name.

TheOneLlama1 votes

Oh. My. God. Did Riot just make a champion based on mine???????? Tentacles????? Same Q?????? Similar passive?????? Similar W???????? AND A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ULTI??????????????????? http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/page/champion-reveal-illaoi-kraken-priestess
