Red Tracker browsing issues

I like to click on and highlight text as I read it. When I expand a topic and read on it, I click the text, hold and drag while I'm reading, and release when I feel like it.

Apparently clicking anywhere on the expanded post closes it.

That is not what I want at all, that ruins my reading experience and forces me to take my hand off my mouse if I want to read a long post without losing my place in it.

Only clicking on the title bar should expand or collapse a post. Please rito, fix?

Also, there is no indication of the number of red posts any given thread has received in this Red Tracker. The dev tracker on the old forums has it, losing features is not something we want. Knowing a post is the 5th of 7 Riot responses is appreciated.

Speaking to the entire row click, this is good feedback and highlights your (and potentially many others) usage pattern very well. I will bring it up with the team and see what we think a good approach might be for this.

As for displaying "5th of 7 Riot responses" inside a thread; in building the new Merged Red Tracker there were a couple things that were technically challenging. The ability to get this information out of the vBulletin API is not currently possible without some reworking of the API endpoints. This type of thing is available in the Community Beta, but having it just on some items in the Red Tracker and not others seemed unbalanced. We are working hard to make the Community Beta the best it can be and a conscious decision was made to forgo the task of reworking the vBulletin API.

So what you're saying is that you are removing features the community appreciated and forcing us to use the new community beta (which incidentally Riot said you wouldn't do).

Funny how we keep saying Riot says one thing and then immediately does the opposite, and you keep on proving us right.

So, why are you not listening to the community again? Seriously... Why? Is it because you have enough fanboys fawning over you on Reddit and the CB?

Edit: And of course this apparently minority opinion on the CB is getting ignored.

I think you're getting downvoted because your bandwagon-ing, putting words in someone's mouth and otherwise directly conflicting with what RealCarlSagan said, at least how I read it. Also, when I see someone say 'us' so frivolously I lose respect for the comment because you're not comfortable saying it's your own opinion. It's what drives the pitchforking and community mobbing the LoL playerbase is infamous for and is really just sad. I'm not saying your opinion is wrong, as it's an opinion, but say it's your own and stop trying to incite something before expecting a response from anyone, let alone a Rioter.

I am saying "us" because I know that there are many people (most of whom don't come on to the CB at all) who dislike this format and believe that Riot isn't listening to their concerns about it.

You are proving my point in that you're supporting this decision while not recognizing my valid argument. (you know, the removing features and forcing us to use the new, less functional Red tracker)

I could care less about "bandwagoning," and I'm not saying everyone agrees with me. What I am saying is that the dissenting opinion is just going to get downvoted and ignored...

I can imagine the click anywhere to collapse functionality might be in place so people don't have to scroll all the way back up through mega-sized posts, and thus is something you wish to preserve in some capacity?

Might I suggest that rather than a click anywhere in the body collapsing the post, make a click anywhere in the column beneath the posters name and forum icon?

Or perhaps a little floating up arrow that moves with you as you scroll through a post larger than the vertical of your monitor, a little magic arrow that zips you back to the top of the post/collapses that post when you hit it?

I'm having a lot of issues browsing red tracker on the iPhone. The Sub-Communities block really cuts out a lot of the whitespace at the end of the title that I used to use to expand and collapse each topic. Each topic is now vertically larger too meaning less topics fit on the screen at a time, but they're not vertically large enough to allow you to click to expand without visiting the link.

I am able to expand if I target the bottom right corner specifically, but it's still only about 70% accurate, and what previously used to be an easy experience is now arduous and frustrating as it opens up browser window after browser window.
