I was reading the Summarize a Champ With a Quote thread and I was thinking "These are pretty funny! I want to know whenever there's a new comment on this discussion, without checking back every few hours." So I came up with the idea of the "follow discussion" button, which would give you the same notifications as if you just posted the discussion yourself.
Hopefully they'll add something like this. Until then, we'll have to live with just keeping interesting discussions open in a separate tab and refreshing every 20 seconds.
Thread subscriptions were an old idea a decade ago. If Riot really wants this board technology to be the wave of their future, they should really get on that.
Riot has said they want to implement this. :)
Unfortunately, we don't have a timeline yet :(
