Some weirdness happening with the 'new', 'recent' and 'hot' sorting.

I'm getting some weirdness with these settings. Discussions that are very old are somehow making their way to the front page under sorting types they should not. It's all fine and dandy... when suddenly a wild year old post appears!

Both appeared on under sorting by 'Recent'. I'm assuming the high upvote and view count is distorting it, or this is some kind of bug.
