Thoughts On FAQ section In/Before Post Creation
As the title suggests, redundancy seems to be an issue with the boards. For example, in Skins & Champion Concepts, you'll find an endless number of threads asking questions that Riot has already given a clear-cut answer to such as "Why did Champion A receive a new skin over Champions L - Z?" or "Why hasn't whatshisface with the shovel gotten a new skin?".
My first thought was that it could be solved by simply creating a FAQ and sticking it to the top of the respective board for the main boards where this is an issue (G&B and Skins). After thinking about it, I realized that only a handful of people would actually read it before posting. New comers especially tend to skip right over the Guidelines, Stickies, and existing threads and simply create their post (I myself am guilty of this as well). So I asked myself, and now I ask you all, what if there were a brief FAQ that one had to skim through before successfully creating a post? A few more questions to add for thought:
- Would this be too annoying/intrusive or just enough?
- Would it have a significant impact in terms of cutting out redundant threads?
- Would it show every time, or simply the first time creating a thread (placing a cookie to remember if someone has seen it before)?
- Where should it be placed (before, during, or after the content creation/addition process)?
- How should it be placed (A popup, a paragraphed section, a clickable notification, etc)?
Red or not, all thoughts, feedback, and ideas are welcomed. ^^
