These new boards make it seem as though they can be really bandwagoney, where people can just immediately upvote and downvote a thread based on its title or current trend of votes rather than reading its content and deciding for themselves.

It was actually like that at the beginning, still not quite sure on the logic of allowing it....
If Reddit allows you to upvote and downvote before seeing the content, then this board should too. Reddit is one of the hottest social media websites out there at the moment.
I can get the gist of many topics simply by hovering over. Why do i need to open a topic to vote when the hover over feature is there?

Agreed, it is one of the qualities that they borrowed from Reddit that would've been better to abandon.
