Alright, my Riot related 'friends' on the boards team. I have a suggestion to make in relation to the organization of the boards, and I am politely asking that you hear me out here.... Despite you not directly asking for my opinion.

Like, really. I want you to actually consider what I'm suggesting instead of brushing everything off as random emotional feedback like you did last time I tried to speak to you. Because it really doesn't hurt to take your community's suggestions into consideration every once in a while.

Based on both the posts you guys made last time, I would like to think I have a pretty good idea as to what you guys have in mind for the boards... However, I do not think you are going about the right way of achieving that goal. Interestingly enough, I have seen suggestions made similar to what I am about to suggest to you, but you seemed to ignore them... And as such? Here I am again making yet another thread in this place outside of my comfortable home in the magical land of RP.

#What I Am Suggesting

A series of parent boards with a collection of subboards beneath them.

As in, you have your general topics like "Community Creations" or "All Chat" or whatever ambiguous subject you want to shove all the boards into, then beneath those parent topics you have several different subboards that users can click between as they please.

The parent board would essentially be a hub where the subboards would feed topics into, and similarly the boards home page would show a select number of topics from each of the parent boards.

Alright... I imagine that's a little confusing to understand in word form, and I also get that I'm not the best at explaining these kinds of things... So I went in the direction that I'm a little more familiar with: Visual representation. Using my very limited knowledge of Adobe Flash, I created a mockup of how the boards might look under the suggestion that I have tried to explain to you.

#Look at this fantastic boards mockup!

Its a bit of a rough representation and a lot of stuff could be changed around to both make more sense and be liked by the community as a whole, but it gets the general idea of what I'm suggesting.

And interestingly enough? Its essentially the same as what your vision of the boards is... Only in a way that the community would like more as a whole.

After all, what you are wanting to create is a series of subboards with tags that users can click between with various ones showing up on the boards home page.

And what I'm suggesting is a series of parent boards and subboards that users can click between, with various ones showing up on the boards home page.

However, the difference between your idea and my suggestion?

The users don't feel like they are forced to share a room with other users that they may not share interests with. The users are also given a choice to simply click on the parent board and can view threads that they may not have seen before were they to simply stick to the subboards.

Apologies if my thoughts are going a little all over the place, I'm kind of running on a lack of sleep and a mild 'bout of insanity due to having to code a crapton of buttons... But I sincerely hope you consider what I, and others, are suggesting for the sake of the boards.

Do not alienate your community more than you already are. There is no harm in listening to us every once in a while.

Dang, nice job actually going and programming that representation of what you want the boards to look like. I have a lot of respect for the time you've put into trying to work with Riot on this.

I completely agree with your idea of keeping sub-boards so that people aren't just dumped into these huge categories. This also allows for the formation of smaller communities within the larger League community(which isn't really one community anyways). I think the Roleplaying board is a perfect example of a healthy community that is very much separate from the rest of the boards (not to say others aren't) and it would be sad to see it get engulfed by League Creations.

Relationships and interests within a large group are naturally fractured, and trying to "fix" this is never going to work. What's more likely to happen is that most of the pieces get thrown out and just the largest piece is left behind. Providing niches for communities to form is much better than throwing everyone out into the jungle.
