Use the "recent" mode, and you will get recently posted and recently replied to threads, just like in the old forums.
You can easily sort it by new if you don't want to see the same threads. There. Problem solved.

Yeh problem solved... if it wasn't for the fact that 99% of the forum viewer base will not switch from the default view and therefore will not participate in anything but the "hot" threads.
Sort by recent OP
OP can stand for both addressing the original poster AND to call it over powered. I'm just that good at words.
But no, seriously, go to the main Boards page, look at the top under "Boards", click on "Recent" and it will sort threads by what was replied to recently. This is what I do when I am sick of the front page, it works much more like old GD.
