How the hell do I navigate this place
I just switched over from GD because reasons, and I'm very confused because I've never seen boards in this style before. Can someone give me a quick introduction to what's going on?

Welcome to boards. First thing's first, that thing right next to the name of your post with the "1" is the rating your post has. The more people that hit the up arrow the higher of a rating you get, and the more people who hit the down arrow the lower rating you get. Posts with extremely low ratings can be deleted. If you look at the sort options (just below the page's Title) there is "hot" which are active discussions, "best" which comes from the highest ratings, "recent", which is things that were recently posted, and "recently replied" which fits more of the forums style where if someone replies to a thread that one goes to the top.
In Boards, if I post a comment on a thread and then you click "reply" to my comment, it doesn't quote my comment. Instead it gets nested below my comment and inside the same box, almost like I quoted you after my post. Then I can reply to your comment and it will nest inside your comment box, like you quoted me. There are also several rules in relation to the Boards in the Pinned topics at the top of the boards page.
