Memes and Games Content Guidelines Update
There has always been the occasional case of a thread being posted on M&G that doesn't actually include some sort of joke, but it's become more prevalent as of late.
Part of this is due to a lot of the major posters being a tight knit community and with a major community member leaving there's been a lot of personal drama being conveyed through the boards. I think it's fine and even great that it is a community that is close enough to have personal drama, but if there is no actual meme or joke it seems like there are more appropriate locations on these boards (or private chats) to have those discussions.
Another major shift is the recent trend to post "ships" and preferred pairings of the characters on the M&G boards. I think this is another gray area that was fairly acceptable in small amounts because the nature of Memes & Games is fairly broad and inclusive, but we now have threads whose sole purpose is just to poll the community opinion on the physical attributes of the characters. It's certainly a League based discussion that belongs on these boards, but I don't think that M&G was intended for that kind of content.
I recommend to the board moderators that we start enforcing the content guidelines on M&G to not allow threads that don't include some sort of meme, joke, pun etc. If the current content guidelines are not specific enough perhaps a rewording to fix that may be needed. I don't think a massive amount of policing is in order, but I don't know if I've heard of a single case of a post bring removed from M&G for being off topic.
To M&G regulars who see this post, I want to make it clear that I do not believe that anyone has done anything wrong or that the new content is necessarily bad. This new content is just different than M&G content, and so like Gameplay/Balance posts I believe that it belongs on a different board.
