I'd like to say that I really am enjoying this thread style BETA. Discussions are not dominated by trolls, spam, or the most recent 20 or so posts.

Good job Riot, I am greatly looking forward to this being refined and implemented. At the very least I will enjoy its continued support. Many thanks!

Update: I say there is less trolling because by design posts are only read by those that actively seek them. As oppose to the majority of posts being centered around a select minority of topics that contain the two cents of every user.

I believe the inhabitants cannot be correlated to the layout. Just because there are no trolls, spam, nor visibility by novelty, all of those things will happen once it comes out of beta. Trolls will still come in droves, 400 discussions will all have the same topic, and discussions that have no business being at the top of the "hot" list will still be there thanks to upvotes.

I enjoy this new format as well. And while it's true when people say that there will still be trolls once it's out of beta, with this format it will be easier to downvote their threads into nothingness. On the old forums their topics are brought back to the top of the first page if someone falls for their troll where it gets even more chances to be seen and get more replies. It's easier to downvote all that crap with this format and upvote all the relevant discussion.

It will also work for threads that are exact copies of threads made just an hour before, like all the "this champion is OP" threads that inevitably happen with every new champion release.

i'm with you. i like this style better. though many of my own posts get lost in the noise that will happen regardless.

hopefully riot will have an easier time getting a consensus with this format and feed back

Of course the Beta site isn't dominated by trolls, spam, or anything like that. It's brand new and still in the beta.

If this format goes live, the trolls will come.

And I will fight tooth and nail to keep it from going live with the current layout.

I agree! So far I'm thoroughly enjoying my time with this new thread system. But I do understand some of the fears of my fellow summoners; how will riot filter out some of these "troll threads" cause they're arrival is imminent? Although we are able to down vote threads as much as they can up vote them, is just doesn't seem like a good way to be able to spark well mannered community conversations. We can see from the tribunal that many summoners don't take it seriously and although its community run, many summoners just punish all the players and those actually try to make fair judgement are out-weighed by those trying to make quick IP. I understand the want for this system however, as in the current forums, many good conversations are lost under the pile of spam. I really hope you guys have a plan to filter out the troll threads cause I really am excited for this new system!

I feel like this beta really Tones down unpopular opinions. When you don't have to look at everyones opinion do to rank you miss out on other peoples sides to things.

I agree with Verandure as soon as the beta is through all the same stuff is inevitable.
