I think if you arent being sarcastic youre having a problem with his item dependencies, since hes so mana hungry he needs manamune and his e q scales fantastically with damage like blood thirster and his w in cannon form from ie. however jayce is a late game champ like nasus,so you should keep that in mind that at the start he has a small warm up period in most cases.
is not that underpowered. He just isnt made to do tones of damage. He has tones of poke so you should be able to slowly take down enemies and win trades, but he should be built a little more tanky as well, after all, he does dive into the middle of fights to try to take the damage and chase out the carries.
AH, I see, you are used to those training wheel champs like Darius, trynd, and all the other overpowered no items needed champions... Well, look up some builds.
My suggestion because personally I don't like
to much due to his play style but I don't see him as under powered. His strength is in the constant long ranged poke that he gets using the accelerator gate and basic ranged q shot. Getting an early
on him helps alleviate that early game mana problems then you just build some damage items then and a bit of tankiness to go with it.
I am not trolling when I say this. If you actually believe this, you are doing it wrong. He is a beast in most games I go against him. You also have to realize the trade off is his kit. He can be range or melee. He can tank, he has high mobility. He is basically a support character on roids. Trust me, he can do a lot of damage. It seems to depend on who he targets as well.
I don't build manamune on him anymore. I think Jayce is still really strong. His Q + E / E + Q combo does a lot of damage to the ADC, esp since you are suppose to use it to poke. If you build some crit on him, his W will destroy the ADC easily. Just gotta play him pokey, and when you know you can kill him, go in hammer form and go ham.
He's not underpowered at all. Actually, with the right build, he scales a bit hard compared to other champs. The only real problem he has [and it's a common one] is that he uses quite a bit of mana to do effective trades in certain portions of the game. Champions like Fiddle and Kassadin run into the same problem, and that's part of what makes them what they are.
can be pretty strong actually, you just have to be careful with mana and get the right items. Also if you want him to deal more damage get a sheen somewhere in there. If you just keep switching forms you can keep the proc on sheen going.
