Riot staff, constructive/productive users, and those who appreciate good ideas, take a look here!

I'm tired of creating detailed threads holding thought-out ideas that immediately get thumb-downed and ignored because people are too lazy to read, don't like the champion/mode in question, or don't even try to contemplate the ideas presented. Us rare few who understand balance, the work it takes to build around it, and respect those who work with it are swept away by the clutter of users who don't remotely try to share any productive thought.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way, and I'm also sure Riot staff would like a better way to identify and promote focused discussions around unique, thought-out ideas.

I suggest this:

  • Create a board area that is limited to users picked by dedicated Riot staff. The ones they pick are those they see that constantly post constructive/productive posts/ideas, promote discussion with their own (and/or others') ideas, and takes time/effort into their posts.

  • People within that community would be able to directly recommend other users they find to be good additions to Riot Staff to help them easily gain the notice that they may otherwise not get. Obvious abuse of this power would be prohibited.

  • The board in question would have a" NO BS" policy, where only one strict warning would be given to someone who is shown as being continually unproductive in their posts within that board. If they continued to show posts that aren't adequate for the board after that first warning, they would lose their privilege to post in it. (One or two jokes would be fine, as long as they are relevant and followed up with constructive/productive thought.)

  • Each thread about a specific champion would require unique details and ideas. Simply whining constantly about specific champions would be prohibited.

  • Down/Upvoting a thread would be impossible without first clicking on the thread and commenting within it. The comment would not only have to be relevant to the topic, but it would also have to be constructive/productive. Obvious abuse of this system would be prohibited.

  • Those not yet allowed in the board can still read the threads and posts within it, and they may share it with others.

I'm well aware this would take a bit of planning and work to do, but I believe the pay-offs have a chance of being far better than they currently are now.

What this new board would provide:

  • A productive, constructive, mature, intelligent, and positive environment for those who want to share ideas they put have thought-out.

  • A focused board that users and Riot staff alike can prioritize and focus on to help gain real valuable ideas and feedback.

  • A "reward" for users who show commendable merit. (i. e. Ass-kissing won't get you in the board. Being constructive/productive will.)

What this new board may cause:

  • Those not yet in the community may see becoming a part of it a goal to strive for, thus causing their posts to improve.

  • Those already in the community would continue staying constructive/productive in their posts if they wished to stay there, cementing a positive environment.

  • Those who put effort into their threads/posts sharing logical ideas that are currently being ignored over the favored "plz buff/nerf (insert champion here)" threads would finally have a place that readily promotes their efforts.

Thank you for taking the time to read my thread. I am but one voice, one that is flawed but is desperately trying to improve itself and its surroundings, none-the-less.
If you like this idea, please comment/upvote so that this can gain some attention from those who can probably do something about it. If you want to share your own ideas around it or change up an idea I presented, please do so and let me know what you'd do.

I clicked, I read, I agree. (I'm tired, but i'll surely return to this tomorrow to enunciate my thoughts)

I give a much more detailed analysis here, but basically I think the issue is this:

  • Not everybody wants to read a wall of text.
  • Those people who don't want to read a wall of text are going to downvote walls of text.
  • Therefore, we need ways to make it so people who aren't interested in seeing long posts, don't see long posts, while those who are interested, do.

-> We need more sorting options.
