Upvote/Downvote Button size

In my opinion the buttons for upvoting and downvoting are rather small. would it be possible for the button to overlap the resultant vote count but remain invisible?

also, the formatting guide shows that i need only input the url of an image for it to be embedded. the preview shows no image- just a link
