[Idea] to cleanup the display a little for each topic

As it stands, my eyes are blasted with way to much information in one area resulting in overload. I feel like some smart data separation could help give it a nice and neat feeling (and also take care of my OCD with alignment).

Here's an image of the layout and alignment change I'm proposing for each topic display: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8782995/cleanup.gif

Simple, but effective?

Edit: Also noticed that the green color of the upvote (arrow up) button is a hard color to distinguish from the mid-tone gray default. Sometimes I'm left doing a double-take to see if I upvoted a post or not.

Here's an alternative mockup of compacting some things a bit more and giving a nice middle ground for users who will miss the forum layout. It gives a familiar feel while still using your new platform: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8782995/improvements.jpg

Also note I've removed the ability to upvote and downvote from the view threads page. I don't think we should be able to vote on a thread we haven't even opened to read lol

Does make it look cleaner and would be a small CSS fix.

That would be a reletively small fix, but it would clean up the page quite a bit. Also, I can barely tell the difference between upvoted content and neutral voted content.

You have my vote. Also, Riot really needs to offer you a job.

If frost doesn't beat me to it, I'll throw something together to demo that this evening.

I think the underlying problem is the color scheme which tends to tire out the eye faster than usual.

So this is going to bug me if I don't point it out, but my mockup image was done hastily before scuddling off to work. I didn't vertically align the data, and now I'm going to be haunted forever and ever.

I also made a post about this. I didn't think anyone else would feel the same. :3

The heavy left oriented content really bothers my eyes. A more centered design done by maybe changing the location of the search, create, and sub-communities should solve this. For me it's not because of the color scheme because I browse the regular forums for hours and actually prefer this scheme versus the old one.
