Why is fag filtered out?

Respect the language of the community you are in. The majority of players here do not automatically associate that with a cigarette, but rather a homosexual slur.

Overall, association is actually really important. We say cigarette in North America, for the most part, and this is a North American board. The word to which you are referring is almost entirely used as an insult in this country (don't really understand why), and just because you feel it's not one doesn't make it not one.

Because in the US, the word "Fag" has become a slur for homosexual.

It's one of those British/American slang words that have completely different meanings depending on which side of the pond you're on.

I'm surprised all the words that can get you insta-banned arn't filtered regardless of turning the chat filter on or off. lol.

so what it does not offend anyone but Fags. what if someone smokes crack and steals you gonna filter thief and crack head to just in case it offends them. I can see it now I was born liking to smoke crack and steal don't persecute me because I was born this way I cant help it. lol
