Is it intended that the view count reflects how many times the discussion was loaded rather than the amount of unique hits on the discussion? I found that; by spam refreshing the page, I can arbitrarily inflate the number of views a discussion has. Is this a "reddit" thing, or just an error?
Daen2 votesUnfortunately, that is indeed how it functions. There doesn't appear to be any uniqueness code on the platform at the present time, as evidenced by the following two things:

I noticed that the two computers I use to log in each have their own memory of what threads I've seen, and threads with new comments. But, the notification/update bar tied to my profile is the same for both computers, as far as I can tell. So it seems like some boards stuff is tracked by cookies, and some by some database linked to our accounts.

I would really love to see view information tracked in a database similarly to our notifications & updates, it's a bit of a pain to have zero continuity between devices in regards to what has already been seen.
