Riot, we need the New Player Forum back!

I spend a significant portion of my forum time in the New Player Forum, helping out players who are new to the game, new to PvP, new to ranked, or just struggling to understand the game or improve. Looking at the new categories for these boards, I do not see any category that jumps out as a place for new players to get help with basic game concepts. Champions & Skins might be a suitable place to ask "I've been doing good on Ashe, who should I get next?". Maps & Modes might be an okay place to ask how to get started jungling, or why having a jungler is better than having two top. Miscellaneous is the only one that looks even remotely suitable for saying "I've only done custom games so far, I'm scared to do a Beginner Co-op game because what if I do bad and make us lose?"

NPF has a really good group of folks who create a welcome atmosphere for new players, and provide answers that make sense for someone who hasn't been both playing games and watching LCS for years. It's a place where someone can post "I started ranked and I am losing so many games, I don't know what to do" and get 8 or 9 sincerely helpful answers before someone chimes in with "git gud nub"...rather than the other way around. If a new player comes to these boards, they're not going to find any section that is obviously for them. They risk asking a question and getting answers that are either completely unintelligible to them or incorrect for someone of their experience level e.g. "You shouldn't be playing Cho'Gath at all, he is trash tier".

The absence of a category for new players—or for Helping Players, which NPF basically boiled down to—is a large omission and I hope that someone from Riot sees this and can give an explanation for why NPF didn't survive the transition to these new boards. Thank you for reading.

Agreed :D You can still go to the old forums thought. Instead of the boards!

Yes, but new players won't know that. It's not at all obvious that there's a "second" set of forums.

I think this is what Help & Support should be; the issue (as with many of the boards) is this isn't currently clear.

I agree. Really enjoyed lurking and helping on the Strategy forum. Please bring it back to the new boards?

Riot! I love the new forum! Goodjob guys! The only problem I have with the new boards is the no new player forum.

This is good feedback. We're going to be changing the minimum level required to post in the Boards soon, so we've been thinking about creating a board like this anyway.

As Mr.Kryp said, you indeed can go to the regular forums as well, they are not phased out or anything, just an extra click or two to get to it.

That being said I think parallels with a few people asking for a general Guides sub-board, which I think can accomplaish the same thing you're asking for, and something I myself would love to see.

As a guide writer, I too want a board for learning and improving, whether it be for experienced players or newcomers. Currently, one does not exist.

What do you think would be a good name for such a board? My thought was Tips & Tricks or Summoner School.
