Bug got me punished

Recently I queued for a game and after selecting my champ and locking in, the game didn't launch. I tried again and again for the game to restart and launch up the game. Later when i launched the game it said i have been put into a lower priority queue for leaving a game. How is it fair to be punished for a bug in your game??!

From Riot's FAQ:

What happens when I leave a game for the first time?

After the game, you will see a pop-up with a LeaverBuster warning. You must follow the prompt on screen in order to queue and play additional games. This does not mean that you've been punished, this is merely a warning. After leaving several games, you'll receive a notification that you've entered the low priority queue.

So a) you just got a warning or b) this isn't the first time you've left games. Either way don't leave games.

I had this problem with Verizon and the reply I got from Riot was "don't play when your internet is bad."

In the past, I've had many games where my internet just cuts out on me in the middle of a game so I've been hit with punishments for leaving and AFKing even though it's not my fault and I can't predict when Verizon's service will be steady and when it will be bad.

After my replies saying that if my first sign that my internet is going down is disconnecting from my game, that should be taken into account rather than the fact that the disconnect happened. I emailed them with the links to the verizion outtage report maps that indicated I wasn't the only one having internet problems. (that particular support ticket for the punishment got erased from my support history even though I still have other tickets from like 5 or so years ago but it is what it is.)

Now, if you actually have a history of AFKing and leaving games when you did them intentionally, you should not be surprised that you get punished because Riot doesn't know if your internet is crappy or if you're leaving.

Just be aware that if your internet starts acting up, stop playing so that you don't look like a consistent leaver.
