Riot needs to bring back Tribunal or Change!

I think a lot of us can agree that the system for finding our who is toxic is broken. I've gotten so many warnings for being toxic it's insane, I remember in season 4 when the tribunal was up, I would basically never get banned. The problem right now is that riot does not look at being toxic as a reaction, they look at it as a action. I remember i flamed this guy on my team for blaming everyone on his mistakes and got banned. Riot shouldn't just be looking at the individual, They should be looking at the collective chat. They should base it around the justice system, Where if someone attacks you, you have the right to shoot them back. Riot either bring back the tribunal or become more understanding.

They should base it around the justice system, Where if someone attacks you, you have the right to shoot them back.

Around which justice system, exactly? Because where I'm from I'm fairly certain that you wouldn't get to claim you acted in self defence after shooting somebody, despite the fact that you could have pressed a simple button and been literally immune to any attack at no cost. You also don't get to claim you acted in self defence if what you are doing doesn't actually help defend yourself. Retaliating against somebody who verbally attacks you in an online game doesn't help in the slightest. You're not rendering them incapable of attacking you further, you're actually even making it more likely.

So in summary: You are intentionally opting out of something that would actually protect you, and instead choose to attack the other party in a way that doesn't protect you. You are retaliating purely for the sake of retaliating. And that's vigilantism and punishable by law.

Exactly. You cannot equate flaming in retaliation to self defense because in real life there's no button to instantly stop the other person from shooting you.

In League, you literally have expelliarmus.

We need a petition for renaming the mute function.

I started out playing League back in season 2. I didn't get my first chat restriction until season 6.

Does that mean the system has changed, or does it mean that I have become more toxic as I've grown up and people around me have started being more negative, life has hit me harder, I've started working 40+ hours a week, getting less sleep, dealing with more stress, etc.

Just because you didn't get punished before does not mean the system is flawed. It means you've changed so subtly you can't even see it.

Trust me, It's not me. It's the fact that the tribunal is gone, The fact that other players could relate to the situation was the fact that didn't get me banned ever. But now that riot does everything automatically is punishes people without looking at the whole picture.

The statistics show you're wrong.

Tribunal frequently punished people for retaliatory remarks. The only people who got a pass sometimes were those who retaliated once then obviously muted and moved on. The system still will not usually punish you for one or two retaliatory remarks, but only if you spend the whole game being an ass after being flamed against.

Again, you can argue this all you want but the statistics show that's incorrect.

To be fair, the system has changed in that it now is more effective at dishing out punishments for the things that were always punishable. Tribunal was awfully slow at handing out punishments, and prioritized (to some degree) more severe offenses.

So yeah, it's plausible that he didn't get punished for the same behaviour previously. But not because it wasn't punishable.
