Why is League still toxic??

Welcome to anything that has to do with competition. You can't escape it.

Because the same community that wants to "stop the toxicity" supplies it.

The punishments are too harsh, so people care less because there's nothing they can do about it.

You can't purge "toxicity" so why piss people off more by taking away their accounts completely when they can just constantly come back.

step 1 free to play game step 2 ban players for being toxic step 3 old toxic players start playing with newer players on their new accounts step 4 new players learn how to be toxic before even learning the meta "smite not until 10" step 5 ????? step 6 profit

It's the set up of the game.

You are helpless once you Q up for the next 40+ minutes. You can't dodge or you get punished and you can't leave or you get punished. To paraphrase n3ac3y, "If I were to have a teammate on a pickup basketball team say "you're gonna give me the ball everytime or I'm gonna score for the other team, I would just leave and go play another game. In League, you can't".

League of Legends players are no different than any other games players, but when a team is getting destroyed or a troll has taken over the team, the game is ruined and at that point, flaming is the interesting thing about the game, since the game is going to be going on for 40 mins and you can't leave without penalty.

I played a game where we were down 39-9 last night. Game was totally over. Team refused to surrender. I didn't want to play anymore but couldn't just sit at base or leave because I thought I'd get penalized. Our Ivern flat out left because the team wouldn't surrender and he had enough and at the end of the game, I felt like he was the smartest and most mature player on the team. I was so disconnected and tired of that game that getting into a flame war would have been a more interesting activity than continuing the game. And that is what is happening over and over in LOL.

You aren't going to hear any of that in this forum though. This kind of discussion isn't welcome here. This forum and Riot will tell you that the set-up of the game is fine, but that the playerbase is the problem.

The design of Summoner's Rift encourages toxicity. This wasn't ever a problem over in Dominionland.

I think it's how dependant on the team that makes the community toxic. One wrong move from a teammate lets your team at a disadvantage. I think people get mad because they hate it when someone makes a mistake, and it goes on from there.

Because people dont use common sense which integrates toxicity.

Level 10 that is 1/9 decides to 1v2 a 10/0 & Support for instance.

1. Nobody likes to lose in anything because his teammate is an incompetent moron

2. Tryharding is not the same as wanting to win, I am mad after losing every single game in any mode, I just dont like to lose and that is the right attitude for life in general, if you dont care about doing something then dont do it and save time for yourself and people who do care

3. Bad punishments for extremely toxic players who flame regardless of the situation, instead of letting them keep their main accounts and giving them 1000 game chat ban, they ban them completely and force them to make new account for which they dont give a fuck and then they are free to flame even harder

Are you playing Ranked or normals?

Everything is acceptable in Ranked. Show up to win, or you deserve what you get. Don't give me this lag/countered/idk wtf Hug means nonsense.

If you can't think of the team, and don't know your opponent, take it to Normals.

As much as this political correctness bullshit and restriction of free speech is failing in real life i hope it will horribly fail for this pansy company that is Riot Games as well. Too bad the broad mass of their customers are whiny little babies with a dire need of safe space so I dont see it happening. The presence of the mute button, that INSTANTLY shuts down "toxicity" (made up term since it is YOUR choice to be affected by it, read) makes all this even more ridiculous.

The only bannable offenses should be disruptive gameplay (int feeding and the like), cheating, unacceptable summoner names, in-game advertising and actual threats made in the chat.

Moreover, I have reported countless of int feeders, trollers and such and not ONE SINGLE TIME have they been punished by Riot. No exaggeration. Not ONCE. Riot dont give a rats ass about behavior like this, it doesnt seem to get registered whatsoever unless it happens to an actual Riot employee or on a popular stream.

Riot is acting like they are some kind of moral police and are putting muzzles on "bad kids"' mouths instead of teaching those sensitive babies how to use the mute button. By this they are also creating much unnecessary work for themselves by having to check the reports. But if its true that an automated system took over that job, which wouldnt surprise me in the slightest, disregard the last point.
