is asking questions toxic?

there was this guy one game who would frequently just stand there as I wailed on him and killed him. I asked him "why did you do that?" and he said I was toxic. when I asked "I have no idea what goes through you people's heads" he called me racist. can anybody explain what happened there?

Questions are not inherently toxic. They can BE toxic, however.

"I have no idea what goes through you people's heads" is on the toxic side of questions, as there's a strong implication of "you guys are being idiots and I have no idea why."

Who knows what happened to him, but if what you are saying is all you said, then I know nothing will happen to your account.

He probably DC or was lagging and already pissed that you killed him. So bringing it up in all chat probably made him sad because he knew he messed up. It’s not toxic but I’m sure he thought of it as toxic because his emotions were going wack from you killing him. Also his team might have flamed him when he died so then you talking to him might have been the last straw.
