Theoretically, if someone were to create a bot that plays well

Disclaimer: I can't program and I nor anyone I know plan to do this

Suppose a programmer makes a bot that can play better than intermediate bots, and try to see how far it can get in ranked. Would that account be bannable?

All its games are played by the bot, and player doesn't do anything.

Well, yeah. Isn't that basically a more complex take on scripting?

It would be an interesting thing to test out with Riot's explicit permission and blessing, but barring that, it's some combination of account sharing and use of unauthorized programs. It's hella ban-worthy.

Unapproved 3rd party applications are against the Terms of Use, and therefore, would technically be banable (to answer your question).

I'm pretty sure 85% of my teammates are failed attempts to make a bot stronger than intermediate.

Well, to put it this way: what would Garen do about it?

Exactly. Were the account found out, it wouldn't last long. Because such a bot program would amount to "unautorized programs/hacking".

That said, it would be an interesting experiment.
