Scripters "need" cracked accounts, start verifying account logins from different IP or location

so this feature should be triggered as soon as the account is logged into from a suspicious or far new location.(there could be some tolerance for log ins in the city of the ip address for like a library or college) the current way riot uses has to detect people when it should be like steam. Similar to steam, if an account is logged into from a different IP then the official account creators IP then require the player contact you via support to provide evidence that it is not a cracked account. things like IP address Payment info(a lot of cracked accounts or botted accounts have bought skins) Must have access to original email other info helping to verify the person

This will eliminate most scripts from league of legends and will also remove botting as a whole(the botting services infringe on riot games anyways by selling what is not theirs)

if you want to remove cheats you just remove the source of their accounts, some people i heard have a LOT of cracked accounts to use for cheating. this is unacceptable behavior, this is a disaster at this point but it can be fixed as soon as this new feature is added and widespread. if you add this feature soon and it detects now then every cracked account will become useless.

any negative vote i receive is originated from somebody who supports league of legends hacks, cheats, bots, and scripts. and as i pointed out the process only requires you to speak to riot support to unlock the account (if you are the owner) always happy to help riot and give great wonderful ideas! this is to show that riot may not be able to completely guarrentee no script will work but remove resources most cheaters use to ruin other peoples games. No cracked accounts for cheaters means no cheating. note: Mr. Riot tantram knows of this thread and is now notified #tristanaop FOR DEMACIA!

To illustrate the fallacy: I propose banning anyone who dodges a skillshot, as they may have used hacks or scripts to do so. Thus, any downvote I receive is from someone who supports league of legends hacks, cheats, bots and scripts.

This is hugely overkill, and generally not the best idea. Riot has pretty good cheater/bot detection -- they just ban in waves.

Additionally -- and perhaps more crucially -- this is a HUGE inconvenience for any player who travels frequently, moves, or -- and this is huge in other regions --plays at Cyber Cafes, where they might not regularly get the same computer (or even play at the same cafe).

Finally, it doesn't even stop scripts/cheaters who simply run programs on their own machines. It would ONLY stop hackers, and Riot already HAS good hack detection.

As you know, Riot currently bans bots and cheaters in waves. They do this to stop the cheat developers from knowing what got them punished.

If I was a developer, and I am getting reports that my program is being detected, I would go in there and start changing code. Maybe by tweaking 10 lines of code it would stop the detection, so I am a happy developer, as my change was easy.

Now Riot has to go through everything and spend those resources to find out what the new program is. Code a fix, test it and different systems, make sure it doesn't negatively interact with other programs (like anti-virus programs). The work on Riot's side is significantly more than the developer's side, not to mention the risk of the new detection blocking the non-cheating players because they have installed some rare program.

So is one method better than the other? Who knows, but at least Riot has decided to NOT go with the method you described.

Yeah amazing idea, it's not like that would ruin any LAN event dedicated to gaming. Even assuming that LAN events don't happen, I personally have an internet connection that most of the time tells that I live in my country's capital, and sometimes it shows the actual city I live in. So when I restart my internet I would risk the chance of not being able to play until riot support replies (From my experience average 1-2 days).

Scripts and bots generally run on the same computer the player is using. There's no connection to IP. At all.

While I get that you're trying to help and frustrated about what you see as a big problem, Riot's detection for hacks is already very good, and the client will not allow a player to continue playing if it detects tampering at any point.

I see we have our first cheater disliking my post, perhaps you are getting on cracked accounts too often so you don't want to go through the trouble of verifying yourself!

just as a post my useful thread i instantly get a dislike from a scripts supporter. Amumu

"Its a problem for people who hack accounts, enjoy cheats, scripts or hacks. because they get detected and banned, but then they just pull out another hacked account see what i mean?"

PumpPenta9/14/2018, 4:28:09 AM1 votes

Disclaimer: The account blocking won't block IP addresses in the same city in most cases(or you just get some code sent to the email and verify it easy) I know this will kill VPN but why play with it on league of legends? Actually a lot of account hackers brute force crack accounts and use a VPN to mask their IP address. Just causes lag nothing useful.
