Where are you guys having these experiences..?

So, I keep seeing posts about how horribly toxic other players are, how terrible the AFK and leavers are, etc.

Question... Where is this happening?

I play a fair bit. Like I have 270+ Ranked games this season on Diana alone. Starting from Bronze 3 or something after placements, and climbing into silver, where I've slowly been progressing through ever since.

I don't experience any of this. On a rare occasion, a player will be noticeably toxic and I'll mute them. Then I keep playing, and nothing comes of it.

MAYBE 1 in 25 games do I see someone go AFK, from either team. Occasionally for ragequit reasons, or toxicity, other times with no real reason.

What are you doing that the game is so toxic around you? I've played for years and never once have I experienced anything even close to what these boards describe the game to be.

it's more noticeable for these players because while the rest of us are more focused on the game to notice the chat, they do the opposite

Honestly, don't see many true afks and rage quits.

I see a ton of "semi-afk". "I'm mad at you so I'm going to sit here and waste both our time because I can't get over my anger." Also, people at silver rank generally have no clue what to do before minions spawn. Not sure if they are semi-afk or just don't care to learn proper starting positions.

Toxic chat is all over. Just banning someones intended pick is usually enough to get all sorts of toxic chat.

Part of it could be not looking at the chat as much. I have mine shrunk alllllll the way down and rarely notice if someone is talking.

Also, it doesn't really happen as much as people say. Someone will over the top flame maybe once every 30-50 games, but when it does happen it is bad and reminds you of all the other times when it happens, and then that is all that you focus on. As far as ACTUAL AFKers, I see maybe 1 in 20 games. Most people just say they are AFKing but are really just AFK farming and still somewhat playing, they just gave up with working as as team and think they will have a better chance just farming items.
