How often do you guys encounter toxicity in your games?

Poll attached, definition below:

Toxicity as in:

  • Name-calling

  • Slurs

  • Trolling (Playing bad is not trolling, off-meta picks is not trolling, unintentional feeding is not trolling, bad decisions is not trolling! Intentional griefing= Trolling - For example purposely throwing the game)

  • Ranting

  • Spam

Just out of curiosity, because recently I feel like there has not been a single game (in the last ~50 games), where someone didn't act toxic, towards me or other players and I wanted to know if I am just having an unlucky streak or if toxicity is abnormally high atm.

Are you perhaps super low rank or really high rank? How is it in Diamond+ or under Diamond? Did you have different experiences on different Servers? I only have experience with EUW and EUNE and feel like EUW, despite what people usually say (bashing French people for example seems to be very trendy on EUW) is a lot less toxic overall. (I'm not trying to make this a country by country thing, maybe the competitive landscape is just different on these servers, idk)

I'm super surprised at the people who say 25% or less.

I legitimately experience toxicity, sexism, racism, and griefing in many of my games between my accounts.

Also recently I experience Endgame spoilers atleast once every other game in champ select... people just try to get on other people nerves.

I strongly dislike this community :')

100%. There are too many children who take offense to anything on league. Just a few days ago I asked my adc to play safe and he just threw the game. [slayer-jinx-unamused]

Barely at all for me. But I think we all have a different "width" of what we would call toxicity. I don't count "Why did you do X?" as toxic unless it's repeated over and over and over. People are going to say things when they're frustrated.

What I do know, and what a lot of people who post here don't realize, is that toxicity will follow you if you're toxic. If I'm a jerk in game (and believe me, I can be), then people will be jerks back. I've been chat restricted before, and I try my damnedest to not throw gasoline on the fire any more. For me, I find the biggest cause of retaliatory toxicity to be when people point out others' mistakes in game, or criticize other things that have already happened and can't be changed. There's absolutely no point in pointing out what people are doing wrong. It's very hard to critically analyze your own play during a game, so people get aggravated and lash out.

Just my 2 cents.

By your definitions, super rarely.

I haven’t played in a while, finals coming up lol, but when I was playing consistently it was roughly 25-50% of the time. I have a bad memory so idk exactly how often

If nobody is feeding I rarely see people acting nasty unless their is a dispute like baron vs dragon and even then it's only for a couple seconds.

Now if someone is 0/5..... /muteall

Almost never if I'm to use your criteria of trolling/inting only counting in very obvious cases.

I see minor toxicity in every game. The frequency is pretty similar between EUW and NA, but the content tends to be different. On NA it's a lot more whining and giving up than on EUW.

If we're going by Riot's shitty definition of "toxicity"(which is literally anything negative), then I'd say about 75% of my games lol

There will always be some guys who will die in lane as well as another who will be mad at the first guy. Your job, as a player, is to not be the one getting killed and to actively create a nice team ambiance(idk if this word is right). Players will then tend to be less mad, since they wouldn't want to upset you(the good guy). I am pretty much always constructive towards my teamates and some games I talk a bit with some teamates. Your allies will simply not want to break the mood and then they playing around the map seems easier, as players will follow eachother and help anotherone in a dire situation. Good teamates makes good teamates. Tilted out of their mind teamates makes tilted out of their mind teamates. Be the change you want to see in your games.

I make a point of normally playing early in the morning or late at night. You're much less likely to run into school-children. Which is what I think a lot of people forget, it's a game aimed at children, who can be very toxic. The worst people you can encounter on the rift at 1am are drunk or high people, who aren't really interested in having an argument. Hell, most of the time people play in silence, which I find quite refreshing.

I don't get it very often at all. I try to say funny stuff in the game, tell people it's alright when they fail. It sets a better stage. But it's not perfect, there's those players that are just unhappy. But at least I can eliminate the toxicity cased by players that were well meaning, but just got embarrassed when they screwed up and don't have the maturity yet to deal with it any other way except lashing out.
