People in ranked are some real special people.

I knew League's community was bad. I saw several instances of it leveling from one to thirty. But the real introduction to "toxic" was ranked.

I played four games of placement after level thirty and I saw and received more hatred than all of the games leading up to level thirty. Sailors had cleaner language than the people in ranked. Die one time, you're feeding. Retreat from a four on one fight? Bad player. Bought any item from the shop? Flamed. Fail to get the final hit on a minion? Cussed out.

Like this last ranked game I played. My fourth actual ranked game after placements put me in Bronze. I had a headache (still do,) and informed everyone I was turning off chat because up to that point, no one in ranked had anything pleasant to say. I simply wasn't in the mood to read profanity from a "holier than thou" gamer. One of the team mates hopped on that one immediately. "Maybe because u suck." "If it's every game, maybe you're the problem." That was just pre-game.

Now, we're IN the game. The guy starts right in criticizing my "bad" leash (a filtered word was used instead of "bad." We head to the bottom lane and myself as Ashe begins a back and forth against Miss Fortune and Soraka. "Why aren't you charging in?" "This Ashe." "You are not getting final hit." "I knew this was bad." "u cs is too low." On and on and on. Later, I miss with my ultimate in a team fight. Yup, you guessed it. "u bad. Ults are for kills. You don't play right. No wonder everyone cusses you." Fed up with "God" telling me how to play, I fire back "Let me know when you're done, Dad." Forgetting I was going to turn chat off, Mr. Perfect drops the f bomb on me before I can do so. "Shouldn't have done that," I said and stopped playing in order to turn off chat.

Oh, we're not done yet (and depending on how much of a fan you are of me, some of you are probably enjoying this.) Now that chat is off and we're fourteen minutes in, I break off to kill minions that are massing in the lanes for gold. I haven't had the money to buy my essential items yet. While I'm doing this, someone is clicking on me to fall back. The group is pushing turrets. I am moving in occasionally on the team fights. But the enemy Shaco is popping up out of nowhere and killing me quickly. Fortunately, I have chat off so I don't have to read "Stop feeding." Still getting gold, getting some better items. I'm getting there. The team is rushing the enemy base. I'm there to help. But darn if that invisible Shaco doesn't get me again just as the Nexus falls. Well, we won. Can't be all bad.

You think?

Post game. "Report Ashe." As if that wasn't expected. "they just ran around the map." Sure enough, up pops the "You have been reported for offensive language" window.

To end it, the individual in question was themselves reported for offensive language and harassment. But this is typical of the ranked games I have experienced. I'll freely admit that I'm not Faker. But I didn't deserve all of that. That was high school revisited. Hopefully, the time it took me to type this out will keep me from partying with that person again.

Until the NEXT jerk gets their turn.

Sheesh.

You find more toxic people late at night in rank.

Ranked is full of shitty assholes. I just play positive to everyone and it usually works, especially if I am nice to the enemy. They tend to take my side when the enemy is really toxic.
