Just played the worst game I've ever had. Considering just quitting.

I just had what i consider to be the worst match I've ever played. I'm not a high elo player with great mechanics. I'm just a bronze 2 who wanted to get to silver 5 one day. All I wanted was to play a match as my favorite champ, rengar, and maybe boost the amount of mastery i have on my only lvl 5 mastery champ and maybe get enough practice to bring him into ranked. Instead what I got was a lee sin and yasuo bot who fed 4 kills in the first 3 minutes, who constantly used homophobic slurs against not only the enemy team, but against me as well for not diving a turret at lvl 1 like they did. The kennen toplane refused to admit that we were gonna lose at 20 deaths vs 0 at 9 minutes, and one he died, started cussing and using slurs as well against our morg mid who was filling the role. The poor morg mid who just wanted to play a regular match was stuck with 8 other players calling her homophobic slurs, taunting the both of us for not feeding them as well. We ended up just hiding in the fountain to avoid dying to the fed enemy players, all the while our teammates asked the enemy team to report us for afk.

What really got to me was the fact that they are more than likely to repeat this, and still get away with this. This is why people consider league the most toxic community in the world of online games. I know there are plenty of great people out there who understand how the game works and are kind and friendly, but after getting these kinds of teammates match after match, i have to wonder if there is actually anything being done.

At this point I'm just considering quitting since they wont be affected at all by this. For them, this was probably incredibly fun, except of course for the poor morg and I who just wanted to play a match of normals. I'm not the kind of person to let this affect me, I'm used to all the homophobic slurs and derogatory names that i get called on a usual basis, either by the enemy team or my own team, but what pissed me off was how they harassed the morgana mid who just fking wanted to play a goddamn game without having everyone attacking her. Like seriously, i know there's a mute feature, but it pisses me off that they'll just make another account and keep harassing and feeding.

I think I can say that we all hear you here. The best thing you can do is mute all and just play. Practice in the jungle and practice one hitting. There is always something else you can work on in game-whether or not your team is cooperating. Make the most of every game and you will progress. Taking the higher road is the only way that these people will stop doing what they are doing. As SOON as you react to them-they win. So, mute and go about your merry Rengo way :)

Take a look at both of the threads posted immediately before yours. Both are people who received permanent bans for harassing teammates and using offensive language (though they think there's nothing wrong with their behavior). One of them even notes that one of his accounts was permabanned 1 game after his 14-day ban expired. These people are getting caught and punished, and they will stop coming back.

Youre playing Rengar, I aint sorry :/

But seriously, if they really were using "homophobic slurs", Im pretty sure they will get banned rather fast lol

I think it's really sad that they made homophobic remarks to you. But, that being said, maybe you could avoid telling everyone in video games about your sexual preferences? It's really awkward.

  1. Mute
  2. Report
  3. ????
  4. Profit

Trust me, the best way to avoid any form of tilt is to simply mute them all, and just play. Don't even reply to them. It won't make it better, nor will it prove anything. Just mute.

That game is unwinnable? Fine. Just ff at 20. No big deal. Its just a game.

Report them afterwards. And don't troll report because that reduces your further reports' weight. I got 3 players punished in the pasr 2 days because i report when it matters.

And then take a 5 minute break before queuing for another game. That simple.

I think I can say without a doubt we've all had something similar. Nothing hurts more than having your whole team wailing on you, not even the enemy doing it. Despite that, I don't think it's a reason to quit. The community is awful, granted, but I find the game strategic, satisfying, and fun. As much as it may try, the community will never be the thing to fully drive me out, and I hope the same for you.

I'd hate to see a bunch of pinheads ruin the game for someone like this.
