Toxicity seems to spread

I was in a game with one of the most toxic environments I've seen, in terms of the percentage of chat that was negative. The adc started i by raging to high heaven about the jungler we had, who happened to be doing quite well. Then yi kind of broke down and threatened to afk like 5 times, and did do so a couple times, and then the support joined in on the negativity. Then our top lane started in, and then they all decided to focus on me, threatening to report me and threatening to afk if I didn't do X for them. The weird thing is, it was like a virus. The very people that were subjected to negativity were quick to avert the eyes of prejudice upon me. I never said anything negative to anyone the whole game. Yi, the guy who I was trying to coax into rejoining the game turned from victim to aggressor in a heartbeat, and soon the toxic people who were originally toxic to each other became buddies, and ganged up on me. This tends to happen a lot. Now I did poorly that game, but the toxicity started really early and I lost the will to play. I didn't intentionally feed, but I wasn't really focused on winning anymore. How can I be? I was in a game with a bunch of wild zoo animals. Toxicity thrives in a toxic environment, and attempts to destroy any sensibility left in the game.
