The point of the game is fun

Current punishment system forces you to be constantly focused on filtering what you say. You must overcome your automatic response to being bullied or being accused of something you didn't do. Current punishment system forces you to put active though into something that is supposed to be automated.

It is actively unfun to stay fully aware and conscious instead of blissfully grinding games, venting and sharing any negativity, as humans do when they get stressed.

As someone not threatened by current punishment system, I suggest scrapping it completely with no replacement.

We've been through this with you before. Explained it to you over a hundred times with numerous reasons. Yet here you are again, trying to justify toxicity.

We've told you, this game isn't meant for venting. Therapy is meant for venting. This is a public video game that is meant for entertainment. This game isn't meant for you to play at other people's expense. This game isn't created for you to play by your standards. This isn't a single player game. You're not here to vent, to express stress, sharing negativity, or even any of that. You're only here to enjoy the competitive fun that everyone shares here while abiding by a policy. You're here to play what the game was made for. Competitive entertainment fun. That's all.

I simply suggest you play another game that allows it. Dota maybe. Something that allows the daily issues of the gloomy world into your entertainment world, but leave League out of it. We have enough issues with people bringing daily hate as it is. The world is full enough of it as it, so leave our only escape out of it. But Riot won't, no, the community won't allow it.

You ignore something important: You flaming makes the game less enjoyable for 4 to 9 other people.

You being upset you can't take out your loss on your teammates doesn't mean shit, because those four others shouldn't have to deal with you flaming them.

3). No

You are not required to be conciously aware of everything you say persay. You should be aware of not:

  1. argueing for 10-20 minutes for no reason.

  2. not doing a flame war the equivilant of "whos got the bigger stick?"

  3. not being a total jerk.

All of which people SHOULD be doing in real life already, which SHOULD be what they are doing in game already.

If you get punished it is because you did something wrong. Dont do something wrong and you wont get punished. That simple.

Current punishment system forces you to be constantly focused on filtering what you say.

If what you say is normally spiteful, vitriolic, inflammatory, offensive, and generally detrimental, then, yeah, it's gonna force you to either filter yourself or hit the road.

You act like there's absolutely no repercussions whatsoever for saying literally anything off the top of your head in common society. If you went out and started yelling, insulting, and harassing someone just because you didn't like their gait, you're going to be seen as an asshole, and people aren't gonna wanna deal with you.

And when it comes to establishments (grocery/convenience stores, restaurants, etc.), even those places have standards for acceptable conduct, much like League does. If you start yelling and wailing at the top of your lungs, having a category 5 manchild meltdown, or start bickering at other people because you don't like the food that they like, etc. - you're going to be asked to stop, and if you keep it up, you'll be made to leave.

You must overcome your automatic response to being bullied or being accused of something you didn't do.

Again; if the automatic response is inflammatory, yes, you're going to have to overcome that. It doesn't take much effort to put second thought to deciding whether or not to tell this guy to "fuck off" - you can mute them and report them post-game, and suffer no consequences yourself.

Flaming someone who accuses you of doing something you didn't only validates their claims, and makes you liable to be punished.

To repeat what should be common internet wisdom by now: Don't feed the troll.

Current punishment system forces you to put active though into something that is supposed to be automated.

What, responding to people, or reporting people? Either way, it's not supposed to be automated. In the former case, you're dealing with other people, and having a modicum of tact is pretty much necessary - and showing a modicum of respect is expected of you.

And in the latter case - you're reporting someone. You're making a claim that "this" person broke the rules. If there's no basis to your claim, and no effort on your part to prove that they broke them, then guess what? Your report was wasted.

It is actively unfun to stay fully aware and conscious instead of blissfully grinding games, venting and sharing any negativity, as humans do when they get stressed.

It is actively unfun to deal with people whose bullshit we don't want to hear when we're trying to play a game. If you need to vent to someone, find someone who's willing to listen. A sibling, a parent, a friend, etc. - but don't dump your vitriol on your teammates.

As someone not threatened by current punishment system, I suggest scrapping it completely with no replacement.

And with that suggestion, flaming, trolling, etc. would become rampant, and the game would be 100x less fun.

I would say it's a suggestion that would be taken under advisement, but frankly, it's not a suggestion worth taking at all.

Is your honest opinion about that stupid suggestion bannable by IFS?

  1. Yes
  2. Yes

Also, biased poll = bad poll. If you're not going to give more options than just "agree with me", you're better off not making a poll, period.

You only have to filter yourself if you think 4chan and youtube comments are standard discourse between human beings.

It is perfectly fine to be frustrated with the out come of games but it is in no way shape or form ok to verbally abuse or belittle others , you have to know when to keep your opinions to yourself.

Sometimes if you have nothing nice to say just say nothing at all.

Those automatic responses are a learned behavior. That means that the behavior can be replaced with a new behavior. Habits are hard to kick, but not impossible. If you learn to just ignore the accusations, and deal with anonymous bullying in an appropriate manner, you have no problems.

  1. Most of the time there is a reason for arguing.
  2. My stick is bigger than yours.
  3. Are you implying I am a jerk? You should probably have a couple of games with restricted chat.

In real life everyone I met with no exception, including the most agreeable girls, said something punishable by IFS at some point. Being passive-aggressive or reacting in a manner of "NO U" is natural. You get pushed - you push back. This is how you establish your place in society.
