Why can you soft-int but not insult the soft-inter?

Just genuinely curious.

I feel like if you are playing ranked it's to climb, so if someone wants to go around and not try then you should be allowed to call them out. That is my opinion.

I also don't flame soft-inters but sometimes i really want to.

For the same reason they can't flame you when you are the one feeding.

Calling them out won't help - instead it will just lead into negative feelings (there are at least 3 other players who get affected by your insults/situation). Just report the griefer after the match and hope they get punished some day in future. Also take a brief pause (to calm down and to void getting the same griefer in the next lobby). Since it is gameplay related griefing, it will take more time than with chat related 'crimes'.

The reason why you aren't allowed to insult was already answered by Jamaree.

What you define as soft- inters are just people that are bad at the game.

You cant soft int. Its just that one of the two is easier to prove and punish.

You cant complain to a cop "why are you arresting me for theft when theres murderers out there!" When you were on camera stealing.

i mean it depends though. soft inting is still inting, but all inting is intentional. if you can prove they are, then yes ofc they can be. flaming is just way easier to catch.

the problem arises of course, when actually trying to prove that they are and not just making bronze choices

because if you get mad at someone who is intentionally shitting on the team's effort you are scum of the earth and you deserve to be burned alive /s

Soft inting, is NOT A THING.

You are either inting, or you are not.

The way I see this there is only two options.

1 - The dude is inting, as in "INTENTIONALLY losing the game" and insulting him will only give him the react he wants you to have 2 - The dude is not inting, as in "NOT INTENTIONNALLY losing the game" and you're just insulting a guy that's already having a bad time.

Either way, insulting comes of as a really stupid decision.

From what I've seen of the punishment system, you can do both til the cows come home.

Honestly I don't know what to do about soft inters. I resent them but at the same time they're not the same creature as a full out inter or troll.

It is not affecting pro players, streamers, LCS, or their advertising revenue so they don't care. The only reason people get banned for chat is because of the auto ban system they put in place to look like they care.

Why can you soft-int but not insult the soft-inter?

The same reason Riot can get away with sexual harassment and rape culture in their company for years but if a person says "doody head" they will get perm banned.
