How is "toxic" defined by the system and community?
How toxic do you consider "toxic"?
It's almost impossible for me to ignore things like "go kill yourself," "stfu %%%got," or "just got raped". I am a sensitive person, and it really hurts me to see people tossing these phrases around. Plenty of people are able to ignore these comments, though, so they continue on with the game and leave the post-game lobby without giving it a second thought. I might report somebody for saying things like this toward me or a teammate, but I have no way of knowing if the player I reported will be noticed by Riot's moderators. Times where a lot of people report a player at the end of a lobby will often have a notification pop-up saying something about how recent reports have gotten a player restricted. So how much does it take for someone to be considered out-of-line? You can't expect everybody to be able to take these things lightly or as a joke, especially when they may have a personal history with these phrases. I realize that League is a large game. There will be people all around and there is no perfect way to ensure good behavior from everybody, but these people are everywhere. Things directly relating to in-game performance are different, I'd say. Things like "you are so bad" or "stop playing ranked" aren't attacks to me.
tl;dr I guess all I'm saying is that if you see a person verbally attacking another in-game, PLEASE report them, even if you don't gain anything from it, even if you aren't hurt by it. ESPECIALLY if you aren't hurt, because you have the power to make the change and protect others from this person's abuse.
