Suspected Boosting Needs to Be a Reportable Offense

To be clear, this is more for ranked play, but I have a lot of hatred toward boosters and boostees (the people who actually get their accounts boosted).

Boosting is a big problem in League. Before someone says that it's not, it definitely ruins a lot of games for many players. The booster is playing at a rank that is not theirs. They are trying to increase the rank of a player who is, no doubt, much lower in skill than the supposed rank they get when the boosting job is done.

Of course, the actual boostee ruins further games by playing way above their actual skill. I can't tell you how many times I have come across both a booster or a boostee who is respectively ruining the game for one side.

I realize from Riot's end that it's a game of Whac-A-Mole. Even if they ban an account, the boosting websites will just start boosting up other accounts to sell. Keep in mind that not every boosting job is trying to get an account to Diamond+. Someone desperate enough will get boosted from Iron to Bronze, for instance.

Personally, I wish no one boosted at all. But meh, that's a lot to ask for when a lot of cheaters exist in this game (yes, I consider boosting cheating). Let's just take integrity out back and shoot it multiple times...

So yeah, I think suspected boosting needs to be a reportable offense (at least for ranked play). It will not solve all of the boosting problems, but I find it really suspicious when an account has zero games played on a particular role, but then they suddenly have a weird streak of games. I'll never forget the first time I went against an actual booster who played Ahri... That account had no indication that they practiced Ahri, but then they just got a gigantic boost of Ahri games with really bloated numbers for the rank range.

Not suspicious at all, right?

it is a reportable and bannable offense. you report it as "cheating" and while it is a problem, boosting in itself is a marginal minority.

also you given scenario can get really touchy, who is to say they dont have an alt account that they play ahri on?

Reporting under Cheating is fine.

Your reports just trigger a review. So it will be up to Riot to investigate them, no need to worry about you falsely punishing people.

I have a friend , he was bronze but really wanted to be a higher rank. He played from like 2 months. One of my classmates had diamond account. And he actually bought my classmate's account and was swaging around that he has diamond account. He played mainly normals on every month he played 2 ranked games. But mostly he was swaging in normals . Season ended, he wanted to get diamond again... Well guess what , he got hardstuck silver. He quit after months of playing and trying to climb out of silver...
