I just got my first chat ban in 6 years after being trolled in the last 3 of 5 played games

This is ridiculous. 6 years playing, not a single punishment, and now I'm being punished after having my experience ruined by trolls? Riot cannot be serious with this. This is from the garen supp game where he stole the carries cs and kills intentionally, and the trundle top who followed me around the jg stealing camps the entire game. Both complete and blatant trolls. Here is what I got punished for:

Game 1 In-Game mrchipopo: oh, they get invade and i get no help. mrchipopo: cool, hope nobody wants ganks mrchipopo: are you serious trundle, you dont help me take their red and you let your laner come take my blue and kill me too? mrchipopo: trundle just threw the game mrchipopo: gg mrchipopo: lol, no, its what we had to do. but what about your laner coming to take my other buff whule you afkeD? mrchipopo: lol, youre not getting any ganks mrchipopo: also you said at lvl 2, i never made it to t mrchipopo: im gonna gank with just a w at lvl 1 with no hp? mrchipopo: k, youre clearly working with half a brain cell, gonna mute and watch you feed and lose mrchipopo: you see trundle just following me aroundthe map now? mrchipopo: pls report, troll every game mrchipopo: hes a troll. too bad riot doesnt actually ban people that ruin games mrchipopo: enjoy your free win mrchipopo: its not your fault for you trolling? mrchipopo: whats funny is we woulda won too mrchipopo: lol, if only you werent a horrible troll

Can you guys honestly say this is an inappropriate response to being trolled?

Riot, I'm serious, if you do not fix this, I'm done. 6 years of playing and I get screwed after my experience is ruined and my time is wasted? unbelievable. Remove the penalty or I'm done with league. I'm not going to play a game that lets people get their experience ruined and then punishes them for having a bad time, that's just plain dumb.

I will never understand why people think that consecutive years of good behavior should shield them from punishment.

Yes, you did break the rules here. After a certain amount of time, asking for reports is considered player harassment and it's clear that your interactions with those trolls was taking your focus off of the game.

Mute or ignore them, report them at the end of the game, file a support ticket if you have to, you do not have the right to flame someone (even if they may be trolling) and act like you didn't break the rules.

Riot, I'm serious, if you do not fix this, I'm done.

Not going to happen, sorry. This ban wasn't made in error.

It's not that big a deal, it's a single 10 game chat restriction, just play it out and use it as a warning in the future.

The game contains more factors than "you" and "person pissing you off."

It contains up to 8 more people who just want to play the game and not hear a pissing contest between two people that can't shut up.

Riot doesnt care about trolls i thought that was very obvious at this point. Positional rankings makes people have another reason for soft inting or running it down in other positions

If you're playing the finger pointing game, it sounds like the trundle can just as easily claim that you were starting to troll him before he started trolling you. Does that make what he did okay? No. But immediately tossing out insults, accusations, and claims to never help the team, just because your team made a tactical mistake is not cool either.

Same problem here. What if Karth didn't feel like invading was a good idea? Why are you the judge of if Garen support was trolling or not? Looks like they were trying to win to me from that kda and build path. Does this mean that Garen was not trolling? Of course not, I'm not sure what Garens intentions were. But you're extremely quick to proclaim someone a troll and proclaim it loudly. Sometimes you get a reaction to actually start trolling in response.

"Oh, this person is going to start insulting me and calling me a troll, well I'm going to show them what trolling actually looks like. If they're going to claim I'm a troll I might as well."

Is it against the rules for them to troll in response to being called a troll? Of course. But the way you're behaving is not okay either and you're inviting negative reactions just as you claim your reactions are from someone else trolling.

If you believe someone is trolling, shut up about it. Telling them that they are trolling is not actually going to stop someone if they are trolling. A troll is doing it because you don't want them to troll.

But if you start calling someone a troll for making a mistake or for going off-meta, you're certainly going to run into more people that start trolling in response because of spite.

So just report them if you think they are trolling. Let Riot be the judge and don't let your assumptions further degrade any possible cohesion your team could have.

tbh you did nothing wrong. riot dosen't take what you said into context and that's their fault. All of the specialists and moderates will say its your fault when its not. They white knight riot all the time for no reason. If you know your right then move on with your head held high that your in the right. That is all you can do.

I don't agree with this chat ban. Dude is just frustrated by trolls, he isn't overly harassing. 15 lines over a 45 minute game?

Riot is ofcourse ramping up banning people right now though, just the wrong people.

Only people who use chat get banned and not afkers/greifers.

this is honestly the worst ban i ever seen, why is riot banning the wrong people? thank god it was just a chat ban but that i was beyond r%%%%%ed and unprofessional even for a chat ban.. why are the trolls and inting feeders that ruin the entire game for everyone get away while people that bring it up get banned? i mean most of the time they get triggered and actually flame/harass the trolls but it wouldn't have happened if the trolls/feeders were dealt with properly in the first place.

i am disappointed but im not surprised considering their horrible work environment and their made in china balance team [sg-miss-fortune]
