Why no one should agree with the way people are banned

Like seriously, I've seen so many threads on this that I decided to make one on my own. We all know you can banned for saying the magic words but I've also seen topics where if someone tells someone to fuck off after the other guy said something like "I hope you drown in a lake and your mother gets f'd" the person who said fuck off gets suspended most of the time for "not keeping cool" reasons; giving the person the attention. I'm starting to think Riot doesn't look over reports at all anymore because most reports I've heard happen, happen instantly.

I've never gotten a message that someone was penalized, and it's mostly because I only report people who deserve to be reported, if they go support and make sexist comments to one of my friends who's a female but refuses to support them because they're basing this off a stereotype that females suck at video games (which has actually happened before) then you're damn right I'm gonna report them, but it never gets through, it never does, why even have the option to report people for misconduct.

A mid laner had a club name that was the triple K with the letters swapped with c's and k's which should be bannable (according to several of my in-game friends) but they don't get penalized because it probably wasn't programmed in the damn bot. Yes some bans are justified, but the WAY it happens is absolute nonsense.

The problem I'm having with this, is you aren't mentioning whether the non-effective reporting is with or without detailing. It's why the option is there. Be as detailed as possible, and if the detailed offense triggers a reason for the automated system to act, it will. I feel like if someone didn't get banned for detailing how someone should meet their demise, chances feel good that this wasn't done. Detailing is critical. It is not something that should be neglected.

The report I was referring to about a support refusing to do anything because we had a female on the team did have as much detail as I could have provided. This was back when the legacy client's report window had a cap on the amount of characters you could use. I'm referring to without detailing.

When that mid laner had a bad club name, my friend reported that mid laner with just "Inappropriate Club Tag Name", NOTHING else, and they got a "this person has been penalized" message not even 30 seconds after they were reported.

A similar thing happened when I was playing with my other friend in Nemesis Draft and someone got Yorick but refused to go to his lane, but went to another lane and that person was okay with it. I didn't even understand why my friend had such a problem with this guy not wanting to play Yorick since he only said like 4 things. The next day he got the penalized message and I was thinking "what bad did he even do?"

Well, the other thing to keep in mind is that only the final nail in the coffin is the one that gets the notification. Half of the people I wind up reporting could be banned for whatever punishment the system deemed fit, and I'd hear/read nothing of it. They're also intentionally nondescript as to what the punishment is, for the sake of the player receiving the punishment. If a person has reports stacked against them, even if the final report isn't particularly severe, it can be enough to put them under.

The most we can do is mute, report with detail, and move on in many cases. I do believe the system to be effective, despite what some may think. Is it the best system? Probably not.
