At what point in chat policing is Riot going to draw the line on discipline?
It feels like Riot doesn't even expect players to be human anymore.
- They've begun only showing your own conversations, out of context with the conversation they are part of.
- The discipline is being enacted for some of the most mildly frustrated text I have ever had thrown back in my face.
- They aren't treating players like spenders. I understand spenders shouldn't get special consideration, but they have set their thresholds of what is considered "safe chat" so low, that even the most tolerant of humans get caught in the net, which means almost all spenders will be vulnerable too.
I'm going to show you an example (like so many other frustrated posts here, and let you actually read what I'm talking about). I feel like I'm being reported basically for being able to predict a game's outcome before it's begun, suggesting what the team needs to accomplish to win if they want to turn that around, and asking the other team to keep in mind reporting someone who is int feeding.
Game 1 Illabethe: i seriously doubt we'll win Illabethe: 5 sustain on their team and strong combos Illabethe: need grievous wounds or team fights will be so lopsided you die in 3 sec and they all alive Illabethe: season resets are a bish Illabethe: adcs that dont leash are a bish Illabethe: yi has something called meditate.... Illabethe: report jhin Illabethe: troll account trying to push lag excuse Illabethe: lol I'm objective and I know what your team can do. Illabethe: literally every person on team is a sustain champ that yasuo cant block Illabethe: so why'd you autolock yasuo Illabethe: can't block darius, karma's W, Illabethe: i'm not why you're feeding Illabethe: look Illabethe: closer to home Illabethe: because I'm the one whose 0/5 or 1/5 Illabethe: actually.... the one being negative is you. Game 1: Had a Yasuo choose Yasuo into Swain, and then dive him about 6 times in a row as soon as he got to lane. The swain was able to 1v5 by the time the game was even remotely to a team stage, and Jhin bot was flashing a 450 fps, but moving and farming normally, but also was feeding his lane. Long story short: Everyone on their team had significant life sustaining abilities. Not a single person on my team ended game with an Executioner blade, Morellonomicon, or Mortal reminder, or Ignite. Before the 10 minute mark, the score was something like 4 kills to 24 kills. I had 0 deaths, and ended game something like 2/4/16 as support. Yasuo and Jhin ended game with 13-16 deaths, and 2 kills, resulting from my plays.
Game 2 Illabethe: ... Illabethe: i can tank Illabethe: wtf malph Illabethe: you just gave your turret for free Illabethe: sigh Illabethe: ty malph Illabethe: for turning an easy game into a hard one Illabethe: gg. Illabethe: malph = freelo Illabethe: pls report malph Illabethe: omfg nami didnt get the hint to get out Illabethe: just finish Illabethe: they dont want to win Illabethe: doesnt matter. we cant get it Illabethe: gg you dont deserve it Illabethe: nah. got trolled by malph Illabethe: he literally gift wrapped top and went mid and fed darius Illabethe: ori didnt feed Illabethe: turrets/objectives Illabethe: are feeding
A no cs malph left his lane at level 5 to go roam map for without accomplishing anything, leaving top turret completely accessible to 100% health to 0% loss. This gave a carry top a huge map presence gain, extra gold, and put malph out of the game. Malph proceeded to feed about 0/5 while running around game, putting lanes we were winning into losing territory, and ended game with something like 65 cs. By Leaving his lane he put a Darius into play where he could take advantage of our team and begin snowballing. Game ended roughly 9 minutes after because the snowball became one sided, even though all other lanes were winning. The nami comment was due to me seeing a nami in point blank range of darius, and I went in with Leona, stunned him twice to save her, only to have her get EVEN closer to him, with about 100 hp, feed his ult, and start what I think was a Triple kill. (I don't even see anything in this conversation that's out of the normal for even good sportsmanship.... and the reports were likely due to the fact I was Leona Jungling and team responded by claiming "TROLL" even though my leona jung scores compete with Vi or Warwick scores....
Game 3 Illabethe: yeah crap loads of heals vs diving team Illabethe: and infernal drakes Illabethe: meh i suck Illabethe: sigh Illabethe: ty mid Illabethe: leona didnt even ult Illabethe: smh Illabethe: wtf Illabethe: that was f'd up Illabethe: no i'm not Illabethe: i know our team Illabethe: b Illabethe: blocked Illabethe: sorry family searching at $240k house Illabethe: nubs Illabethe: nub asses Illabethe: why because YOU guys are feeding? Illabethe: no. my build is anti zed Illabethe: but you fed him beyoind belief Illabethe: nah. you did Illabethe: and the 5 death 0 kill tryn Illabethe: you have invuln Illabethe: grow a pair Illabethe: couldnt get out because xin bailed Illabethe: dude stfu you are why we are in this mess Illabethe: you fed zed Illabethe: gave them drakes Illabethe: and fed mf
This game I tried to trade out of adc, because adc is one of my worst roles. No one responded, I went Jinx. The other team as a high sustain team with an MF adc. Had a Tryn exclusively feed (no kills and very low assists entire game), and my support was diving bot hard and I couldn't keep up with her or try to set up kills from her dives. Our mid and jungle were also hyper feeding a Zed mid who ended game 9/1/8. It wasn't the greatest of situations, but team started blaming me for their inadequacies, because I was building an HP build on Jinx to attempt to survive their feed (Black cleaver, Sterak's and some life steal items because a base HP Jinx wasn't going to survive their Zed or their fed Swain. Makes sense to build what's going to survive long enough to kill, right? I know meta builds, but rushing IE isn't going to win vs champs who can bottom out 1700 hp in 2 sec) Sometime during this game, my father called me out of breath, demanding, and excited, because right now we're doing some house hunting to try to move me closer to his farm, and he found a huge house for $240,000 that he jumped on and put out an offer before even consulting me on it, because he thinks it'll be sold in 3 days after sale starts.... THAT GOOD. So, I'll admit. Like I said in game, "meh I suck" I was distracted for a couple minutes and played a role in the loss. But.....I likely got reported simply because I was building off meta, not because of the house call. They were calling it a 4v5 game, wherein fact, it wasn't even my lane the most fed.
But wow.... I've been around since season 3. I have never seen Riot discipline for conversations like these. I mean..... these are the kind of conversations pros have...... a little critical, but not ragey-cussy and certainly not anything worse. These are causal frustration, and the kinds of conversations all players have.
For a game that has tooltips that suggest communication increases win performance, they certainly don't seem like they want us to communicate. They seem to want us to just Block our entire teams, never say a word other than "GJ" and never offer winning advice. They seem to want to reinforce the idea that, if someone is not playing meta, they can be reported for "griefing" and get convicted of bad behavior under verbal abuse. I see more than my share of this: I play Karma top (Counters almost all top champs except Wu or Yorick), Rakan and Leona Jungle (both extremely strong ganks/drake control/clear rates[Rakan and Leona both have large base attack scaling per level which enable them to be viable junglers), and MF support (I know some people attack this as some T1 trick someone pulled, but it's just as viable as any mage support, and has high spammability, and usually outscales the entire team on damage, and allows for some strong aoe condition application like grievous wounds or black cleaver's armor reduction to help entire team, that the normal adc builds don't allow. By and large, the only games I get reported on are these games where I play something someone else voices an opinion is "trolling."
I own almost all champs, and own considerable skins for them all as well. I don't appreciate getting disciplined at a level of language that could be expected of ANY player to use, that could put them at risk for G rated conversations. I mean..... look at game 2 and 3..... the latter game has 28 posts. The prior has 20. The games lasted about 30 minutes, so that's saying something about once every minute and a half, and probably less, since 5-6 of the lines are clumped together. So I talked those games a whopping 3-4 times. I was just "playing" and minding my own business, other than playing a nonmeta.
